Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed. And also: I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel, which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned! Just a couple questions. These are supposedly from a man who knew Christ directly. Or is it possible that he could have misinterpreted Jesus' words? You would think Jesus would clear things up then wouldn't you? Thanks everyone for being a part of my search. ~Brandon |

I see couple of things here:
1) reference to Angels means teaching in Astral. It has been said that even the devil him self will dress himself in a form of a sweetest and most beautiful angel. Thus conjuring the angel is the best method to find the real teacher. Be dammed is reference to a false teacher.
2) he is talking presumably to Christians, then we assume they accepted teaching of Christ. Any one steering from that teaching is only postponing walking on the path its self. It is clear that all religions, if read from code, will yield the path towards the Intimate Christ. Again going into another religion just postpones the travel on the path its self. Thus this time dammed be you who found the treasure in your heart and refuses to take it (straying away from the path leads to Abyss.).
Wishing you all a great spiritual morning.

Currently, I don’t think Jesus was meaning to form a new religion with his teachings; actually I tend not to look at esoteric teachings with religious lenses. (It amazes me how many egos one can have attached to religion they are born into - and no one knows which religion they might have followed with same intensity in a past life ! I had discovered a lot in mine!)
The original post instantly reminded me of the Gospel of kingdom that Jesus refers to. (Is this really a Gospel that is written? – it escapes my mind at the moment). I understand it relates to ‘the path’ that takes one to heaven.
But in Gospel of Philip the heaven is described to arrive when divine is incarnated within.
“The father was in the son and the son in the father. This is the kingdom of heaven.”

Paul wrote letters to specific groups of people. I have no idea what he's referring to there as "perverting the gospel of Christ." I also don't know when this was written or what the people he's addressing have "accepted." People think the Bible always existed exactly how it is, but as far as I understand, it really started as separate books and was compiled by someone who didn't know Jesus or the disciples. At that point someone decided what would stay and what would go.
Jesus Himself says you will know the tree by its fruit. I find it much more practical to focus on the actual words of Jesus in the gospels than on Paul's various letters which have been abused by Christianity.

How do we know that those words (in the red) were actually spoken by Jesus? Didn't the writers of the gospels write the bible a while after Jesus died? Wouldn't that cause some distortion of the word?
Jim, I agree with you in regards of being more interested in the actual words of Jesus rather than Paul's letters. Who knows, maybe Jesus would have corrected Paul's writings if he had been there. Since the teacher wasn't there to correct maybe some things were documented imperfectly.

I think to a certain degree the words might not be exactly literally correct, but they agree mostly throughout the 4 gospels in the Bible, and these were Jesus's disciples who walked and talked with Him every day, so for me that means they are correct enough to try to extract practical information from. But I wouldn't think anyone should just believe this or that. For me the things He says are very deep, very practical, stab straight into your soul, and at the same time His whole life has so many layers of meaning. That's the important thing, to keep pushing to apply spiritual teaching in your life so that you yourself can gain very real experience of what is Truth, beyond ideas and the intellect.
If you follow where that type of questioning is taking you, then wouldn't you come to ask how we know anything at all? How do we know we're not dreaming right now? How do I know you're real? How do I know the Astral is not a dream? How do I know the "physical" is not a dream? How do I know anything? Really then, the only verifiable truth to this is, "I think therefore I am." So I can prove to myself that I exist, and that's in complete seriousness all that I can know. So then, who am I? What is it that is experiencing this? What separates me, the observer, from what is observed? What does this feeling mean? What does this anger mean? Are these emotions me? Are these thoughts what define me? If I had no thoughts, would I cease to exist? What does all this mean? etc. etc. etc. etc.... So then, if someone is going to question then I think they should keep questioning to the very core, otherwise the mind thinks it's working out understanding when really it's just throwing around ideas and definitions without ever penetrating deeper into the substance of those words and ideas.

And that, my friend, is why you are the best person alive. Thanks for the response.
