I can't find the other thread so here's a new one. For anyone that has raised a century plant from a seed, exactly how long did it take to germanate and sprout? Mine has been sitting in the soil for ever, and I water it very little as it was described to do. |

Mine took ~15 days.
Don't bury the seeds too deep, they need light to germinate. Sunlight. Lot's of it.

Be careful not to under water it. I did for months with mine when I first got it. It's a wonder it still survived (though it lost many shoots).
It seems good (to me) to get one of those pots that filter out water when the soil absorbs enough. I water my plant until this happens. My plant needs water every week or two.

Thanks, probably just needs more time. It's not overwatered but there is little light because of winter.

In the winter time, I find that century plants seem to really like to be placed close to the heater (not too close, so they burn though).
Yes, it seems that they need as much direct light as it's possible and their roots should stay in the dry soil most of the time.

Hi Apakhana
My seeds grew in small pots, it wasn't too long.
There are also small greenhouses that you can buy for that purpose. They are not expensive too.
Good luck with it.

I'm just curious, what's the big deal with century plants? I drive by a ton of them everyday. One has been in bloom for about two years. They grow wild where I live.

It has a powerful elemental which with the help of the Father, can protect us and heal us from black magic. It's sometimes taught in the Gnostic Wisdom course. Belzebuub mentioned it recently in the "A Move to England" section on his "My Story" thing, saying, "The first time in the astral plane I called the inner being, or Master of the coordinator of the Movement called Rabolu, he showed me a Century plant. That was it, no words, just plain and simple, I knew intuitively that I needed to get and use that plant, which is needed for esoteric protection."
That's great, shouldn't be too hard for you to get one then :) Where you from? I see them wild sometimes here in Alabama. The old ones are huge.

I live in Southern California 1/2 hour from the beach, the desert & the mountains in any direction. It's so beautiful in my area cuz I have lots of open space. At night, I can hear the coyotes and on one walk, there was a cougar. Needless to say, I didn't finish that walk. I also get to see oppossums, skunks & raccoons (sp? sorry, too lazy to check).
A family of skunks moved into my garage one time and when the mom went out, I shooed the babies out with a broom. They were so cute. I was very gentle with them, so they just walked out with the broom pushing them a little on their butt. lol They co-existed with my cat for a couple of nights, eating her food and drinking her water. She was smart enough to stay her distance though.
I'll stop on the way to work tomorrow and take pictures of the century plants. I think you will be amazed at how many are just on the side of the road. The one that's in bloom is little, but it's neat. There's a couple of different varieties. Is the amercana the one with yellow on the leaves? That's the one that has been in
bloom for about two years now, I think. I think I'll plant one in front of my house and one in my back yard. There can never be enough protection, huh?

Hi Dusty,
There is a certain work we can do with the elemental of the century plant that can give us additional protection. The technique is covered in the Gnostic Wisdom course book.
It doesn't so much matter how many plants we have or where we plant them (a pot is fine), as long as we have acess to a plant that is our own.
In terms of leaf colour, I think there are male and female varieties of the plant, both of which are effective. And I think their leaves are slightly different in colour/markings.
All the best!

Hi Mike,
Thanks for your reply. I hope someday I can see all this magic.
