Hi everyone. I was recently given advice to lie on my back instead on
my side or stomach to astral project. I found it extremely uncomfortable
but I persevered. I can now fall asleep instead of all hours in the morning.
I relax myself first when I am lying on my back but it does not feel nearly
as comfortable as lying on my side or stomach. I do my concentration
exercise but I am lying there for more than an hour then I fall asleep. My
question is do I keep purserving in what I am doing and in time my body
will feel more relaxed?

Thanks Sally.

I know how you feel. It is so uncomfortable, even on the softest of beds. Any comfort is always temporary. Last night I lay on my back and didn't move for something like 2 hours. I felt the tingling everywhere, but sleep just wouldn't come since I was in so much discomfort, even with all the concentrations, visualizations and distractions I provided for myself.

Hi Fish

How long have you been lying on your back for? I have been lying on my back for three weeks now. Last night I had an uncomfortable sleep.

Thanks Sally

Hi, this can be diffucult, but you must never force yourself because you will form resistance to the practice, of course you must be committed, and have good preparation and your relaxation must be completed if you have any tension you must deal with it or it will spoil the practice. I have knee problems and use a pillow to elevate them, this has eliminated involuntary movement from pain and stiffness. Please be gentle with yourself , but you must have success with not letting your mind win. Overall sleeping on my back was difficult, gradually I realised it was completly relaxing and refreshing and gave me committment to remember my dreams. regards Cheryl.

99% of the time, I project from laying on my side. But, this is done after a good nights rest and I'm not tired anymore. This way, I can lay very comfortably on my side and keep my mind awake while my body falls asleep. I think laying on your back when you're tired can help to keep your mind awake while your body falls asleep.

Hi Dusty

Thank you for your opinion. It was very helpful. I will do the same as you. I can now sleep on my back without any problems.

Hi Sally,
That's great you can lay on your back and fall asleep. I just can't do it that well. I usually end up twitching really bad...one time my hand went flying up in the air and thudded down on my chest. Another time, very recently, my right leg jerked really bad. I think I've only projected once or twice laying on my back.

Good luck with your projections,
Dusty
