So i've been doing a lot of research on ap and it seems i've been naturally doing this my whole life which is pretty cool.  The problem is everytime it did happen i thought i was having a nightmare or it would be scary.  I'd say 90% of the time when I sleep on my back i have "nightmares" and there always the same and because of this i never intentionally sleep on my back.  I would always having the same situation of being in a somewhat dream like state but i was awake because everything would be the same like my tv would be on because i can't sleep without the tv on or music playing. It would ended with me feeling like i was awake but unreal things would happen like hearing voices and crazy nosies by ghost or evil spirits ne's i guess and i would be under the impression that i was being possessed and i would try and wake myself up or move my body but i would be paralyzed and i would just keep screaming wake up wake up to myself until i would suddenly awake. I must say until i read some of these discussions i thought i was crazy or something but i see others have had similar situations.  My question is how to deal with these ne's, I've read about the chants but are there other ways as well.  And now that i know these are normal things i really don't fear them as much or at all really so do you think they will reoccur?

Hi Ryan,

Welcome to the forums. Like you have experienced, sleeping on your back can be beneficial for astral experiences, because the sleep usually tends to be lighter, and a light sleep is good for astral projection. Although we sometimes have less pleasant experiences, there can also be some wonderfull experiences to be gained in the astral.

The best way to deal with these ne's is to ignore them, because they only try to distract us and keep us from exploring the astral world. When you wake up in the astral and you know you are there, you could make a little jump and try to fly somewhere.

The ne's usually try to take advantage of that paralyzing state you have mentioned. At that moment the astral body is beginning to seperate from the physical body, but is not yet fully detached. If you find yourself again in such a situation, try to remain calm, ignore the ne's or voices and slowly get up from bed.

All the best.
