A person's belief system seems to have an effect on their NDE.

I'm assuming this is for their comfort or learning. At what point after death does a person get exposed to the ultimate truth, after their dreamy-state NDE? What is the longest a person has been confirmed dead and then came back to life?

Hi Brandon,

Cool; I was just discussing this belief system yesterday with some friends.

It seems our upbringing and what we've been exposed to shapes how we'd interpret a NDE. I'm sure in many cases while the experiences have been legitimate but because of beliefs the real truth is not perceived.

And sadly, I think it stays like this until we really start to awaken our consciousness which can only be done through the spiritual work. In order to know the truth, we need to be conscious. Aside from perhaps an instant here or there, I think most remain trapped within all their egos and beliefs after death (or NDE) as they did in life. So while the truth may be right in front of those who died, I don't think they see it.

That's mostly speculation...

As for the longest, I've heard of 72 hour NDEs. Maybe some have been longer. And I'm not sure how rigorous the tests for life have been during the "duration of death". Presumably the person presumed dead could have died then come back to life but been in a coma for some time before finally coming to...

All the best!

Mike

I can tell you my story of the near-death experience althought I don't clearly remember everything. I was between life and death and the moment I lost the feeling of my physical body I felt so much peace, I was looking around the place I was ( I suppose this was my astral body because in the situation I was it was hard to me to any side) and everything felt so alive to me and crystal clear, it was like the time has stopped and all you do is just perceive and surrender to the feeling ..... it is hard to explain but I got more consciousness than the one I usually have in my daily life.

Although I am not so afraid to die it is interesting when this thought crosses your mind that you will die and you will lose your physical body and you will lose everyone you know at this moment and it is interesting how much power you can find when you want to live. There were few things that made me want to come back and stop whatever was happening and right then I didn't know much about death just some stories (didn't know about astral projection too) so I began to wonder then will I see any light or tunnel, why noone is coming to pick me up, where do I have to go because it looked a lonely place to me and also I was wondering if I will still continue to see the place I was like I am traveling around the earth..... So I decided I wasn't ready .... What I learned from one of Mark's interviews is that umm I think it was something like you have to stay more time there until you see the light in the end of the tunnel .....

Brandon,

What we believe to be true is what we experience or at least that is what Neale Donald Walsch says happens. He says there are three stages to Death. The first stage is being out of your body still in this reality, the second stage is when we have gone through the tunnel and we encounter what we believe we will encounter meaning if you are Buddist you would probably meet Buddah, if you are Christian you meet Jesus, then you meet your loved one's and so on. The second stage is usually as far as a person experiencing a NDE gets to. The third stage is when we are absorbed by God and cleansed before we regain our own identity and then deciding what to do next. Mr. Walsch says some stuff I just do not agree with. I agree that we reincarnate in order to satisfy our desire to learn and experience but I believe we eventually get to a point where we are content and are ready to "Go Home" for good at some point but Walsch says we will reincarnate forever, that we will never be satisfied with the level of learning we have accomplished.

I don't know if this answers any of your questions or not but thought I'd share this anyway.

Love, light and peace, Christy J.

Brandon,

The longest I have heard of someone being dead and returning to their body is 90 minutes which was Don Piper who has a book out called "90 minutes in Heaven". I read that book and it was pretty good but I was not too impressed with it. I like the books "Saved by the light" and "Embraced by the light" which are very detailed NDE's.
