I just wanted to get peoples thoughts on Satan and Hell. I personally do not believe in either. I believe satan is the human ego which causes us to do bad things and believe we are in "hell" right now. I do not believe in a fiery hell that God sends sinners to. What are your thoughts? |

I read neither Greek nor Hebrew, but it's my understanding there are something like five different words that get (mis)translated to 'Hell' in the modern bible - and none of them mean a fiery place where souls are tormented forever.
For mine, it's a part of the whole control package put about and enforced by death - in the name of Love even :) - by the orthodox Pauline Church. It's the Big Stick for those wayward souls who didn't/don't automatically hand over their futures to the priests and Church.
They don't seem to have realised how psychotic it makes their God seem. 'Love me or burn forever in Hell' is not the action of a sane Being.
Just my thoughts...

Seeker,
I couldn't agree more. I have always said that the views of the Church make God seem like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, lol! On one hand they say how loving and merciful he is then on the other say that if you go against him he will deny you throw you into Hell. God loves unconditionally so that means that there is nothing that will make him stop loving us even if we are not perfect Angels. I agree there is evil in the world but it is of the flesh, not of the soul and God will not damn us for being human and making mistakes while in this world.

Hi everyone,
To me, hell is subjective. There is purgatory and there is the abyss, but it is a necessity and has a reason it exists. The further one develops or devolves from their source, then the closer they will become to the inferior dimensions.
"God" doesn't damn me for making my own mistakes, I only hurt myself by separating even more from perfection, from my being. The farther away, the closer I am to the abyss. It's up to me to work towards the opposite direction and rectify my being.
In the 4.5 billion years life has been on the Earth, when has someone come and do all the spiritual work for us ???
Really, those people that think a messiah will do it for them are mistaken. They are the same people that succumb to the dogmas of controlling man-man idea religions that don't understand what they are talking about because they have no experience with truly "knowing."
That's why people believe nonsense like "God loves you but will send you to hell if you don't follow the rules set forth by a secular organization."
It doesn'y make people bad or wrong, just mistaken.
If people realized the potential to awaken that is inside them, then real religion would exist in everyone who wanted it, it's internal.
Falsities and speculations produce confusion and followers, not workers and leaders of their own being.

Apakhana,
I agree with you on all but a couple points. I do not believe in Purgatory at all as a real place and as far as the abyss goes, I feel it is a state of being in this world when we have drifted so far away from God. I believe purgatory means something but is not an actual place where souls await judgment, it is symbolic in my opinion. If anyone agrees with me on this and has an idea what purgatory represents, please share and if you disagree with me share your thoughts as well.

Hi,
Yes, there is purgatory - totally. The way we arrive at it as far as it being a "place" is internally. Separation from our source, not being able to recieve God's light, etc...
The abyss is different to me, call them infernal dimensions or whatever name you want to assign to them, is best summed up through the Enochian macrocosmic model.
Abyss, being that ring-pass-not that will insulate creation from it's absolute source. Above all 30 aethyrs and watchtower hierarchies.
Someone can not return to the absolute without perfecting themselves via their Great Work on their own or the other option is going the way of evolution/devolution and getting stripped of their imperfections through the abyss in the end.
Some people assign the sephirot Daat to the abyss but I don't understand why. There remains 3 sephirot above the abyss then...
In any case, all are assumptions until we ascend the aethyrs ourselves via the enochian work or visit those dimensions in the astral vehicle and gain our own gnosis.

Hi Christy,
In my understanding also "hell, abyss, inferno, etc" can be seen as symbols of the horrible internal states of the psyche, where things like appreciation of beauty, care for others, sincerity, respect, love, common sense, etc. don't exist, or almost don't exist.
Everyone has their "dark side".
If it is not changed with esoteric work, terrible egos lay underneath the psyche of each human being, waiting to manifest in the "right"circumstances.
Then, internal states project externally, "like a magnet", attracting corresponding events, and egos of hatred, suspicion, arrogance and fear, etc. affect us, humans, and project it all into taking part in these horrible events like wars, social injustice, crime, etc. and some places on Earth literally become like that image of hell from the scriptures, or even something more horrible...
I remember once I had a specific training in the former prison and in the most cells I went too, I could feel enormous suffering and pain, beyond any measure, and I could see often these or similar words on the walls: "This is Hell". I just coudn't wait to get out of that place, luckily I didn't have to stay there for a long time.
Also, Samael Aun Weor and Belzebuub teach that the universe is multidimensional, there are high spiritual dimensions and lower inferior dimensions, every action (I think "karma" means action in Sanscrit) brings consequences, life takes place in a different dimensions.
"Yes there is a hell, yes, there is a karma", those who commit crimes, have to pay for it in inferior dimensions, eventually.
Even those who simply don't use one of the many chances to awaken, ultimately have to pass over circles of devolution and evolution, before they can recieve more chances. This is how justice works...but another pillar is called mercy.
There is a load of material to explain about, it is covered in depth in the course in Gnostic Wisdom.
Regarding the personal verifications, it is taught that we go into infra-dimensions when we have nightmares. For me it explains many things, because, really, for me it seems like nightmares take place in a very different, much darker place than usual astral experiences.
That's only my opinion about that, maybe with the information from the courses this perspective can become more clear to you too, but like it is always said, with personal search, internal work, we get more and more real understanding about these things from our own spiritual experiences, build up our Gnosis, as we progress.
the best wishes from me,
Vadim
