What is everyones opinoin on wiccan magic? I watched a movie on it today, it looked very interesting to look into, I went to the movies website they hosted some very basic spells... Needless to say I tried it, I have green eyes, and I had a cream colored candle, your eye color turns to the color of whatever candle you want to use. I did the spell, said the words, beleived in it, and I walked around for about half an hour and had a conversation with my mom, she was looking into my eyes as I talked and asked me. "John... why are you eyes tan?" I said they were cream not tan, and I said I went to the website of that movie we just watched and she just looked at me stunned, like she was gonna have a heart attack and said my god, this is real? Before I venture to far into it, I wanna know, does anyone know if it is considered "Bad" or have a kharmic cycle even if im using light magic? Im not trying any of the black magic, there is black "bad" magic on the website but im staying well away from it, and staying with light. |

Hi John,
For me it was always interesting to learn more about these things and I also wondered: "is it really good?"
I don't know much about wicca, although I think, usually commonly known modern magical systems are mostly about finding supernatural ways to "get desired things" without a real understanding about nature of desires and wants, cosmic laws and consequences of such interferences.
For me, the true magic is "magic of giving", sharing, helping, praying -"because it is in giving that we receive and it is in forgiving that we are pardoned".
Inferiour things are given up in order to receive superior things, and then faculties start to work, things like intuition start to work, dreams teach lessons, amazing events are placed in your life, as earning dharma replaces earning karma... everyday life becomes magical!
Sometimes, I pray for healing of those who are sick, and I always add up in the prayers something like: "may the Divine Will be done and not mine".
Even if I want sincerily something to happen and to help someone, maybe I can interfere in important lesson from above, or take away from a person so needed experience to fight through a difficulty and to become stronger? Sometimes we can get into a small trouble in order to learn how not to get into a real trouble, etc.
"May my wish come true only if it is in accordance with the Divine Law."
In my opinion, with internal work and prayer, everything which is really needed, is given to us.
best wishes

For me it's not about wanting something, i've just ALWAYS been interested about these things, spiritual work, spirits, magic, incantations. I always thought it would be AMAZING if it were real, I always thought it wasnt, but here it is in front of my face im just amazed. I changed my physical eye color... it's just extremely extremeley interesting, and it makes me feel happy when Im watching or learning seeing or doing anything paranormal or spiritually. What first brought me to looking it up was summoning. I wanted to summon a being, in the physical since I cannot get into the astral, for more then a few seconds. But this would be very dangerous to summon a being into the physical, I just want to converse with a being, and ask for a blessing, and feel the blessing. I've prayed but i've never felt anything received, so I dont pray much. I pray for protection from my spirit guide and god / the divine when I meditate and go into the astral but thats it.

Yes, for me too, there is so much amazing out there, interesting to explore! Easy to forget about being careful though.
With prayers to work, for me the keys are their sincerity, persistence, and doing what I can to support my own words with my own actions.
regards,
take care!

I never understood Wicca that much. There seems like alot of different approaches to it. Is there a true teacher or source one can learn more about the system from to learn more about what it's about?
Thanks for any direction you can give.

Oh, there are a lot of sources. You can even join a group - in person, online, etc. (They're all over Yahoo Groups.) I was looking into it about 6-7 years ago out of curiosity.
They are not spiritually advanced though, so it's a very empty experience. In my opinion, they're amateurs and not getting their powers from higher dimensions, if they really have powers or not. lol I really didn't like the people that are practicing it. They seemed really egotistical & shallow. I think they just like to meet and try and feel powerful through their "witchcraft". lol
BTW, the reason I was looking into was because someone left three decapitated crow heads in the bed of my pickup, so I was looking up the meaning of that on the internet. Also, one time I got spooked by a witch that was coming to get me. It cut into a dream I was having - it was very clear what she wanted. I think this was just a random thing though. But, it made me curious. I don't know who put the crow heads in my truck, but I think it probably caused them more harm than it did me. lol

Hmm I'm not too sure i like that response Dusty. I myself am a witch and i'd like to consider myself very spiritual. I am quite suprised at the lack of knowlege people have on this subject, especially people who are interested in the subjects covered by this website.
I practise magic, my 'powers' do come from higher dimentions, they come from the energy that we are all a part of and i wouldnt never class them as amateur - apart from, maybe, if you comparing somebody like myself to sabrina the teenage witch, or harry potter - who manifest things instantly in a flash of colourful light...but that, of course, is fiction (if only it were as simple!)
Of course you do come accross people who become witches just to feel indervidual, unique or to gain power over their peers -- and i would class those as egotistical and shallow as you put it, but these are a minority and i know many others that are not..
I thought the days of viewing witches in such a light as i have read from this post were long gone, and it saddens me to know that i am wrong.
On the subject of the crows heads... i would presume that this is the work of a fox, rather than a witch.

Hi Pixie,
I understand what you are getting at in a sort. There's probably alot of people that look down on what you might practise becasue so many others who misuse the sytem have spoiled it to the eyes of the uninitiated.
My experience is in Enochiana. It's pretty impossible to mis-use it because any true higher power is not going to help out someone trying to awaken for evil.
It's probably a good thing most people really don't know about it anyway; I'm sure if it were as popular as Wicca, then all sorts of sinister types would figure out a way to ruin the enochian practice too.

Hi Pixie,
Those crow heads were severed, not chewed. There was no blood or feathers or anything around to indicate something caught three crows and hopped up in the back of my pickup to dispose of the heads. They were definitely placed there. Not that it means a witch placed them there, that's just what my mom said. Could have been monsterous children who have no respect for life, or it could have been a very neat cayote. lol Who knows. I just thought it was interesting.
Since I investigated wicca over the internet only, you are probably right about them being involved just to feel individual. The ones who answered my post were definitely ego driven. They were all about "you better watch out for us".
I'm not too sure about witchcraft & spirituality, though. What is the purpose of practicing magic and how does that tie into getting rid of egos & getting closer to God? Maybe it's the word magic that I'm misinterpreting.
Thanks for your response,
Dusty

Hi Apakhana,
I have heard of people that use enochian magic in a dark way.Maybe they work with the dark angels that are mentioned there.
Don't really know though.

Hi Chris,
Yeah, at one time Anton LeVey put the Enochian calls into his work and changed all the angelic names to names of demons and replaced the names of God with "Satan" etc...
Using his popularity to bring Enochiana into the light for others that knew nothing about it, his actions pretty much spoiled it for them.
This, along with his other acts of stupidity, brought him his due karma.
Since the system is completely workable on it's own, the need to suplement other material into it is unecessary but people still mix it, albeit with bad results.
There were negative interlopers that came around as the system was being dictated to stop them and, which according to the diaries, they were dispelled by archangel Michael and Dee was told not to use their names.
It's still definately not something you should play around with though, if you're not ready for change.
