i was watching a video clip about holographic universe also found on youtube
and for some reason it seemed as a total nonsense the way it was explained in the video.
the main idea was that he images we see are transformed into electrical signals that are interpreted by our brain into an image.
and that the outside source of that image is not real.
they used a bird and a candle. with a simple computer graphic simulation and at the end said. with all this physical proof... i have not seen any reference to the real world in an entire video.
so the whole time i was watching it i had my finger on the table.
i felt the table i saw the table and heard hissing sound when i moved my finger i could probably lick the table and smell it but i didn't it was real enough for me.
if all that information is only an illusion in our brain and the brain itself is an illusion why didn't my finger just fall through the table?
what about particles or energy of light that is reflected off the object that hits our eye? how can it not be physical matter? if we sense it with our physical body.

Hey Mute,
I think you might have answered your own question :)
That said, I think what we experience of the external world (which seems pretty solid to me too) is based on our thoughts and how we perceive or judge the sensations like sight and taste and smell etc. that come into us.
So if we could be aware of our senses without commenting or having thoughts or emotions associated with what we were experiencing, then I think we'd be experiencing reality.

Technically though, your finger never touches the table. There is no hard substance, only energy. The reality of it is that on the outside of atoms there is a negative energy (the electrons), and there is a GIGANTIC amount of space between that outside electrical field and the nucleus of that atom.
When two "things" collide, it is only the negative electrical fields that repel each other, like two like poles of a magnet. In this way, all "things" we can see and touch, but ultimately it's all just transfer and interaction of energy.
Hence how Einstein figured out that any"thing" can be equated to a certain amount of energy (E=MC^2), anything with a mass can be defined as just a certain amount of energy.
The rest of the points still apply, you know, because we're still here, we have control of how we perceive this present moment, and it's that experience, and the interaction in life that is what's real.
Anyways,
Jim B.

i donno i guess im missing something.

I don't know anything about the holographic experience theories. I was just stating a fact about "matter." I wouldn't worry too much about some bogus theories, only if there's a practical way of finding out for yourself :) People make up a lot of pretty-sounding ideas, but really we need practical advice that will provide real and lasting results in daily life, right? Right... and that's what Gnosis does, gives us tools to throw away all that nonsense, all those theories, and experience things for ourselves, things that the average person has no idea about. It's really great.

I don't think Quantum theory can be quite so easily dismissed. It opens up possibilities for understanding what the physical universe, (and maybe even our purpose here) is all about
There's a lot of gumph stated about whast quantum realities might be but basically it is opening up possibilities & seems to rely on Consciousness for any of it to happen at all.
Einstein suggested what is perceived depends on frames of reference, & whether the observer is in the same frame as the perceived, but the quantum idea is it depends on there being an observer at all.
I think I'll post my thoughts in their own thread rather than co-opt this one...
