I've been a seeker for a while now - at least a knowing one. Looking back I realise the drifting I did early on was a lower form of seeking - a looking for something to learn.
Our society seems devoid of meaning to most people I guess - rampant consumerism doesn't bring satisfaction & we see the results daily in the anger & pain out there. Our governments punish drug use & other forms of escapism but don't dare to address just why such a large percentage of the population is seeking escape. Whether it's drugs, alcohol, religion or unsanity, there seems an ongoing need to not face reality.
Reading through a bit of what is here & some other sites I've found, spirituality (not religion) & seeking knowingness seem to offer (for me anyway) the best chance at satisfying the 'quest gene' that seems to be at my core. Helping others along the way has been another source of feeling worthwhile in my life.
I look forward to my journey here & sharing what I can with others

Welcome Seeker,
I felt very similar once upon a time and it was that uneasiness with how life and society was that drove me to search for something real and worthwhile which was how I ended up here.
If you look into what is freely taught in the courses here I am sure you will find many if not all of the answers you are looking for.
There is also a Centre down in Melbourne which runs these courses in person. They are a great bunch of people and I am sure would love to have you along at one of there lectures.

Thanks for the welcome. I've enrolled in the Online Self Discovery course. I'll have to sdee what I can organise about visiting the Melbourne Centre - I had the impression from the list of course dates that it was more about course things than a 'call in & say g'day' place.
Is there any particular time or night or is it 'pop in & say hello'?

I hope you enjoy the Self Discovery course!
There are courses running in the centre, but I'm pretty sure there are practices that are open to anyone (on Sunday, and maybe one evening during the week) to come to where you can just drop in and say hi :)
