My name is Marilyn and just joined the group. After readings some of the posting, I would like to share my experiences of living in
the present moment. My life is very busy and I am begining to realize that I do not spend a lot of time leaving in the present moment
but lives in the future more that appreciating the present. I look forward to working on this challenge with the group support and
sharing. Thanksi

Hi Marilyn,

Welcome to the group!

Yes, life takes place here, life takes place now.
To stay "here and now" is a big challenge for me as well. Past is gone, actions in the present moment have potential to determine the future.

I understand clearly the need to stay in the present moment all the time, however daily life is so full of fascinations and distractions. Easy to forget myself...easy to find excuses...

Group strength and information from the courses helps me a lot, but it's always up to me whether to apply continously this effort to "wake up", or let the external life be my boss.

Strength to everyone to live in the present moment!

Hi Marilyn,

Welcome to Gnosticweb!

I find it hard to stay in the present moment and not to think too much about the future or the past too. You've come to the right place to work on it though!

There's lots of people here trying to do the same thing which brings a lot of strength, and the Self Discovery course gives some really good techniques to learn how to live in the present moment.

Good luck with the challenge!

David

Yes, that's true, I find.

Present moment, awareness, past and future...all are just words, just some labels to put on experiences, which can be helpful though.

But yes, it seems that truth can be found only beyond any words of any language, beyond any definitions and terminology.
Truth is what it is, truth is truth.

Hi Marilyn,

That present moment likes to escape us real easy doesn't it. Especially when we are required to busy ourselves in something.
There's alot of good suggestions in the self-discovery course you'd probably be interested in.

What helps me is to ask "Where am I?" and then realize who is the "I" that just asked the question...
It causes a shift in perspective into a superior awareness of being for me, but that likes to dissapear when an opportunity to identify with something unimportant comes along. That's what to look out for and eliminate.

Things get easier for me when I eliminate what I want to busy myself in and only concern myself in what needs to be done. It's less stressfull too.

Good luck with everything!

Hi Marilyn

Welcome.

I can't say I'm an expert on finding and maintaining the moment. When I do experience the moment it seems so simple, a still mind, peace, oneness with my surrounds. Then before I know it the old devil the mind steps in again and drags me back.

One thing I have learn't is the more I try, the more natural it becomes.

Youv'e set yourself a noble challenge. I think I'll try and keep you company on it.

Good luck and we'll stay in touch

Keep up the good work Marilyn and take every steps to keep up your awareness and the trying to be in the present moment. Its also helpful for wake ups to happen in the astral if you know what I mean. I like to see the enthusiasm you have reg trying to be aware, wish I too get that enthusiastic. I will try my best too. :-)

Thanks,
Ju
