Usual it is about inner states. You have to develope intuition for this. As it is personal, it is up to the person who dreams, to explain it himself.
There is a dream guide in the book of VM Belzebuub, Astral travel and dreams.
And it goes deeper about how to explain dreams.

cheers, Peter

Hey David,

Welcome to Gnosticweb!

Have you signed up for any of the courses here? The Dreams and Out of Body Experiences course talks about dreams and dream symbolism a lot and gives you ways to remember and interpret your dreams, based on intuition.

Essentially the intuitive gut feeling you have about what a dream means if often correct, if we think about it too much we can lose that original meaning, which comes intuitively to us from the higher dimensions.

The dream symbol guide in the Astral Travel and Dreams book helps a lot with this as was said, I think because we start to get an idea of how things are shown to us using symbols.

All the best with interpreting your dreams!
David
