Martin’s Biography

Gnosis has been termed an ‘inner science’, and this combination of science and spirituality finds a living example in Martin Morin. While pursuing his PhD in molecular biology, Martin has simultaneously devoted himself to the pursuit of self-knowledge and spiritual experience. He has been sharing the fruits of his search with others since 2005.

An independent and strong-willed individual, he has remained committed throughout his life to the personal search for truth. However, in 2003, Martin experienced a period of personal crisis as he confronted certain fundamental questions that he was unable to answer. A newspaper ad led him to a local spiritual expo, where he heard a lecture on Astral Travel given by a Gnosticweb teacher and felt an intuitive draw to this experiential approach to spirituality, particularly the fact that it was offered freely to everyone.

Martin is appreciated by his students as a strong character, straightforward and direct, who approaches spirituality with a structured and, above all, practical methodology. By breaking difficult concepts into smaller pieces and exploring them step-by-step, Martin has helped numerous students take their own first steps into the world of spirituality.

Martin is also at the forefront of bringing the teachings of Gnosis to the French-speaking world. A founding teacher of the Montreal Study Centre, Martin’s proficiency as a native speaker of French has been vital in delivering the Gnosticweb courses to Montreal’s huge Francophone population. Additionally, his translation work has made much of the body of Gnostic teachings available to French-speakers around the globe.
