Hello All
One (obvious perhaps) tip is to locate these paintings online and then use them as beautiful wallpapers on your computer. In this way, we can all enjoy these treasures of culture.

Just to add on to that good idea, for those who want to find high definition copies you can go to

Not all of the recommended art is there but a vast majority is.

I like these ones a lot too:
St Michael and the Devil - Carlos Crivelli
Jacques Callot, Temptation of Saint Anthony, Second Version, Etching (1634) - This one is a bit graphic in the way the demons are presented, but when I saw it in the gallery I found it very inspiring! Saint Anthony is the small figure under the arch towards the bottom right hand side of the image. You need a bigger version of the image to make him out.
I also really like the Gustave Dore etchings - both the ones he did for Dante's Divine Comedy, and the ones done for the bible.
Thanks for the list Adam!

Just curious, does anyone have any folk art or art from other cultures and religions to add to this list?
Apart from the Tibetian Thangka painting, it seems very christian dominated!

Sorry, with that ^^^^ in mind, I would add Kagayas works to the list.

Ahh yes the ol Kagaya. I remember they were on the Borderline List. I think it was you Ahona that first recommended Kagaya on the old Mysticweb forums many years ago. I think I have had some of that art on my walls ever since :-). Very astral, other dimensional looking art. Its good stuff.

Yes, for me too, Kagaya's pictures look like they were taken from another dimension.

Hi everyone,
I don't know what to think, but do you think "John" in Davinci's Last Supper is really Mary Magdalene?

Thanks for drawing my attention to Kagaya's work, guys. All I can say is - Wow!
As for your question, Apakhana, I've never known what to think about that. Lots of paintings I've seen from those periods left me wondering whether they were pictures of men or women. Maybe the paint brushes were made differently back then :)
