Courses begin at the Melbourne Centre- January 2008…with some American flavour!

On a warm Sunday morning, still reeling from a phenomenal time at the Australian retreat, three Americans converged upon the Melbourne Gnostic Study Centre. They may have had plans to travel around the country, but after the retreat experience, their plans were shifted to enjoy some time with the friends they made during their time in the Bunya Mountains. A.J. and Carolyn (Madison Center) and Alejandro (Berkeley Center) eagerly explored the Melbourne Center and re-united with their mates from the retreat.

Here AJ, Carolyn, Trent, Dave and I stand at the front of the center. Dave arrived from Brisbane at 6am so as not to miss the first Gnostic Wisdom lecture on Sunday, hence the luggage!

What?! Can all that really be the practice room?

Hanging out in the Centre before and after the lectures. Melbourne will be running the Gnostic Wisdom lecture at 10:30 and the Meditation course at 12:30 with the Teachers’s course to follow. Trent H and Steve gave the weekend lectures and both did a great job.

The Melbourne Center run’s its OBE Course at a local Community Center on Monday nights at 7pm. About 50-60 eager new students came to this first lecture. Scott gave an enthusiastic, concise, and very informative introductory lecture. Many of us who have seen this lecture more than a few times still took home a lot of info! It appears that all those who attended the lecture have signed up for the course so it promises to be a very successful round of courses here in Melbourne.

And the sun sets on the city of Melbourne! We have had a great time so far, and we thank everyone from Melbourne (Sydney, Perth and Brisbane too) for being so kind and hospitable. Having the opportunity to spend time with the Gnostic community in Australia has been an amazing opportunity, and we hope that we can return the kindness sometime very soon. We hope you can all come to the American retreat!!
