Hi Lucio,
As I understand it, "sleep paralysis" is widely used term for transitionary state between physical and astral planes.
Physical body gets numb and loses sensitivity, it feels paralyzed. A person still receives an information from the physical world with five senses, but is just about to shift perception into astral body.
This is something very natural and normal.
Sleep paralysis and other sensations of astral projection can be explained during the course in Dreams and Out-of-body experiences.
