well you know how you can walk through walls right? well if you wanted to touch something without your hand passing through is it possible or will it just pass through? |

I think, it depends mostly from intention, whether for example a person has intention to pass through wall, or wishes just to touch it.
Element of beleif plays a role in it too, I find, sometimes I had a trouble to pass through walls, having doubt that it is possible.

What Vadim explained is very true, intention and beliefs do play a big role in it. If you think you cannot pass through a wall, you won't... If you intend to bump into it rather than through it, you will bump into it etc.
There are however some other things to keep in mind too... There are for instance some walls, depending on where you are located dimensionally, that by design you cannot pass through regardless of beliefs and intentions.
But generally it has to do with expectation... intention is key to most things in the astral. Intention is conscious choice and decision. You walk out from a high building and intend to walk in the air as if it was the ground, you are standing in the air... You think you will fall down or doubt it is possible to be in the air, and you will fall down...
