I'm feeling quite shocked, but not in a bad way, I'm normally quite sceptical, but now I'm totally amazed about what's just happened to me.

I've had suspected Astral Projections before that were incredible, but I couldn't 100% eliminate the possibility that I was dreaming, although they certainly didn't feel like dreams, also I'd forget stuff before writing them down.

Well I've just had an incredible experience. It wasn't even a full proper projection, but it's still the most amazing thing that's every happened to me so far.

I started seeing images with my eyes shut, later I managed to get a CLEAR view with my eyes shut. I could feel my eyes shut and this was an absolute certainty, yet I could see the room and my arm. I wasn't even lying in my back, I was on my side. I felt my non physical arms and was able to move them separately to my real arms. All the time I could see my real arm, which was the strangest experience I've ever had. This lasted ages and gave me plenty of time to experiment, I tried looking at my hand (non-physical) but I couldn't see anything, which is odd as before I've seen my hands melt. I then tried to push myself out of my body with my non physical hands, but for some reason I was stuck. After lots of pushing to no avail, I then tried to think of myself floating above, but every time I looked, I was still looking at my physical arm from the same place. I was totally concious and aware in every way, it was like I was awake. It truly was amazing. It definitely WASN'T a dream. When I did open my physical eyes, and I was also in full control of when I did this, I remembered everything and wrote stuff down thinking that there's no way I'll ever forget this, but I have in the past. About 30 minutes after I got up, I did start forgetting some details, so I referred to my notes, which made me remember.

Can anyone think of any rational explanation for this whole experience? Can you help me, why couldn't I break totally free from my body when I tried to? It was like something was pulling me back, any idea how I could overcome this next time? I don't understand why I couldn't see my non physical hand when I held it up against where I was seeing, any ideas?

Many Thanks

Wow, that's an amazing experience! I suppose that's one of those experiences that we can't rationally explain away... It definitely sounds like a split, but based on what you say it could be that part of your body was still 'attached' and that that's why you couldn't pull yourself out all the way. This can happen if there's tension in the body - then those parts won't really split. So for example, if your lower body wasn't properly relaxed but your arms, eyes, etc were, then it's realistic that you could move those parts around like you could but still remain partially stuck. You didn't mention how you got the experience you did but basically the first step when we try to project is to relax the body completely, from head to toe, to enable the split to go smoothly. Also there can be a certain 'pull' back towards the physical body if we've split but are still close to it, so if you were out completely it might help to just move away further. Perhaps if you find yourself stuck again, try visualizing a place you want to go to and you can travel there and away from the pull. Then onto the exploring part!

Not sure why you wouldn't see your hand like that, the times I've looked at my hands they've definitely been visible, even if they might look a bit different... Not something to worry about though, just keep going with your practices and you're bound to have many more experiences in the astral in the future :-)

Thats excellent P.J. CARLOSS,

Its really amazing to hear accounts like yours when people have verified element of the work through their own efforts. I find it quite inspiring so thank you for sharing.
Besides the many excellent suggestions given by Liz, there is one other thing that might help and has worked more less for myself.
The actual split is a natural process but when we are conscious of it we can tend to (or I do) get a little involved and try and make it happen. This interrupts the automatic process and introduces tension which as Liz mentioned can then effectively glue one part of the astral body to the tense physical body.
It sounds pretty simple but just try and relax and realign your self with the process of the split. Without trying to bring it on, fasten it up or even think about it just come back to the natural and pleasant feelings of the process and 'go with it'.
To be honest its not something I have had much success with but my investigations and results have found the above to be the best approach.
I hope to hear you have more and more amazing experiences and valued investigations in the future.
All the best with it
