A Place Where Spirituality Can Come First

At the recent Australian retreat in the Bunya Mountains - our largest retreat so far - an amazing momentum was generated. With nearly 60 of us united on a mountainside, surrounded by the beauty of nature and friendship, you could get a glimpse of something special. People found they learned more, understood more, overcame more and achieved more in their spiritual practices, and developed a true connection with one another.

Retreats give us a perspective on life that is hard to find in the daily grind of these modern times, but they are all too brief. Those of us trying to walk the Gnostic spiritual path are mostly scattered throughout the world. Unlike the great esoteric civilizations of the past, with their majestic temples and gatherings for sacred rites, we don't often have the chance to unite together on such a large scale to build up that group strength and focus on what really matters, and learn from and inspire one another. Separated like this, it's harder to have that spiritual focus flow through our daily lives, and cultivate care for those around us - when the world moves in the opposite direction with people divided.

Well imagine a retreat that doesn't have an end date. Imagine a place you could stay as long you wanted to and where, year round, the focus is on spiritual enlightenment - not money, ambition, stress, greed or the mundane life.

We hope to get such a place up and running, by finding a suitable site and raising enough funds to buy the land. We are looking for a place where we can start up soon. It needs to be in a natural, beautiful setting - a tranquil site for practices and nature walks, but with access to basic infrastructure such as electricity so we can provide a comfortable dwelling for all those who visit. Ideally it would have some pre-existing buildings we can use right away and that we can build upon and extend in the future.

Our future abode will be somewhere in the Great Dividing Range. People have already started looking at real estate and you can review some of the possibilities on the property search page.
