hi all i havent been to this site since forever! lol, anyways i got some new questions about AP; 1st. i try to Astral Project, but i can always hear the o'clock in my room! its like disracting me, should i turn it off? 2nd. whats a good technique to Astral Project? i tried alot of techniques but nothings working. :( 3rd. its cold at night, so if i was under a cover, would it prevent me from projecting? like if i tried to jump, i'd feel the 4th. why does it feel so real when you dream that your flying or you have telekinses? i had both and they felt so real, was thanks all for your answer |

Hey Abood,
Nice to see you back :)
1) With deep enough concentration, the clock in principle shouldn't be a distraction. But I personally feel that if there's something that could distract me and it can easily be stopped (i.e. excess light, stuff vibrating in the fridge, etc.) then I try to stop those things from even happening (i.e. block out light, arrange stuff in fridge better, etc.). This way I can have the best chances at projecting.
2) There are tons of techniques, and we could all find different techniques "good". One really important factor in projecting is concentration. So I'd even recommend doing concentration practices – this will help make any astral technique more effective. You can find one practice explained in this video: http://www.gnosticweb.com/node/11708 .
I'm sorry but I don't remember if you did the Dreams and OBEs course here. If you already did it, maybe pick a technique from it, and practice it for a while - not just a day or two but for a week, say - and see where that takes you. If you haven't done the course, then I'd strongly recommend it and I think it will offer you lots of useful techniques.
3) The covers won't pose a problem. You might, for example, float up above your bed and pass through the covers. If you do project and you're still under your covers, then at worse you'd have to lift them off you when you get up, but it won't stop you from being able to fly away.
4) I think it feels real because in those times we are perhaps more lucid (more conscious) than we usually are in a dream, yet we aren't quite fully conscious at the time.
The experiences you had were very close to lucid dreaming at any rate. With a lucid dream we can actually realize we're dreaming and completely come out of the dream to consciously travel in the astral.
Hope that answers your questions.
Happy astral!
Mike

Hi there, welcome back!
I would agree with everything Mike L posted and wanted to add that if you make the mistakes I did, you won't get very far and these included:
- Half-hearted attempts
- Not practicing at all
- Not practicing awareness
- Switching between techniques while you're trying to project.
Hope that helps you out!

I think you have already gotten good answers to your questions. I just thought I'd make a quick "if you cannot beat it, use it" remark... In other words, if you find the clock a problem, you can of course learn to get used to it and ignore it (possible) or turn it off, as mentioned earlier... OR you could also use it as a way to remain concentrated and focused. In other words, concentrating on the sound of the alarm as a way to project.
It is all up to you though, what you find works best... since it is a very individual thing based on personal taste.
