Hi Everyone, most nights I become lucid in at least one of my dreams. I sometimes have great fun stopping my dream and creating a differant one! I have no problem flying in my dreams, in fact sometimes I try to help others learn how to do it which gets mixed results! I also love the feeling of going through walls. |

It is good that you try to use the experienced for something beneficial, to learn and explore. There is some learning that can be done by "playing around" too, but it is very limited and after a few times it is just play and no learning... There is so much you can do and find out when you have those experiences, it would be a shame to miss out on all of it, just because you are always playing.
There isn't much information about what happens when you ask to be taken some place... For instance, do the experience always end before you end up there? Or do you eventually get bored of not getting anywhere so you ask it to stop, or do you stop it yourself and move down to ground and begin playing again etc?
It is not uncommon that when being taken someplace the experience ends before reaching your goal. This is often due to emotions, thinking it takes a long time and having a hard time just relaxing into it etc.
Unfortunately it is often hard to remain out for a lengthy period of time... Resulting in if you have to travel for some time, it is common to simply not make it to the goal. This should get easier with time though...
If you find it hard exploring in this manner, perhaps you should try another approach? There are many ways to learn and explore. You could for instance try and call for your guide, a master or other spiritual being, to teach and advice you of personal and important matters.
There are also other ways to travel to places other than only asking to be taken there. For instance you could try and imagine a happy nice place and travel to it, or use a mental image of a photgraph you looked at earlier during the day and travel to that place. You could also create shifts to unknown places by simply creating a dimensional shift, without clear intention of where to end up... Often they can be more interesting than the dimensional location you occupy during your dreamstate.
If you want to learn something about yourself and reality etc, rather than ending up in places but have a hard time ending up in a place to learn... Then perhaps do as I suggested earlier, make the teaching come to you, invoke a master or higher being.
Just playing around and trying to teach other dreamers or confused spirits (or subconscious characters, depending on objectivity etc) can only lead to so much...

hello Lucy,
Great that you have many opportunities in the astral, I wish I could say the same!
Sounds to me that you need to focus more. When you have a destiny in mind, keep on concentrating on it while flying, til you reach it.
I remember once in the astral I made a jump with the intention of flying into a certain building, then while flying towards it my concentration faded away and I landed before the building instead of in.
Can try do concentration exercises. It is vital for all spiritual work / progress.
good luck,
peter

Hi Lucy,
Also, you might want to ask for help understanding why you can't get anywhere. You might be shown in a dream or lucid experience through symbolism. Or you could try some of the alternative approaches that Patrik suggested to get to the bottom of this.
I know it can be frustrating because the same thing has happened to me. One thing I've learned is that these things don't just fix themselves! We have to be proactive in trying to solve the problem, as you seem to be doing here :)

Lucy,
I don't know if you still visit the forum but I want to thank you for your post. It's good to know that I'm not the only one who experiences this. I experience the same kind of sensations always flying up in the sky most of the time through buildings. It's almost as if I have no control. I wonder what the significance of flying through the buildings is? Maybe it's something universal.

Flying usual means that you are doing fine spiritual in daily life. Like awareness is good, not too many egos manifesting.

Hi Molly,
I think that while waiting for the course to start, it can be a useful idea to read about out-of-body experiences.
If you'll go to the top menu, you can click on "Out-of-body-experiences" and "Exercises and Practices".
But reading alone can't get anyone over there, as well as practices done incorrectly.
The key to astral projection is to learn how to concentrate well and how to relax entire body.
So, it can be useful to practice these skills, and they can be helpful not only for astral travel but for the whole life!
Good luck with the course!

Hi LL,
I can certainly relate to your situation and have many lucid flying dreams were I fly out of dangerous situations or try to help others fly. At times when I became lucid enough ask to go somewere specific I have sometimes falen into a dream or get to the place but dont stay consious for long enough to do real investigations.
However in the astral course resitations are learned that can help to clear the astral to see what is really there. Learning to improve concentration also an invalueable tool to improving our astral experiences. If you concentrate on the astral course you will recieve valuable tools and have definite improvement on your experiences.
Keep pussing and you will have success.
Kind Regards
