As far as I'm aware, as Jake already said, the position of your body in terms of the north-south, or east-west axis, really won't make a difference. My bed is placed so that I'm sleeping in the "east-west direction", and I have been able to project despite that. Concentration is what counts, with it you can project despite most distractions or circumstances.
Take care,
Matija

There are several things which are said to influence projection, which are mentioned in books and around... Such things are what you have mentioned the position of sleeping, that it is easier during full moon, that certain herbs and teas make it easier etc.
Well some things might have a slight effect, like higher energy during full moon etc. But in reality in the long run, even if some things have a slight effect, none of this is going to prevent projection. What really counts is the practise, with proper practise none of the above really matters.
If you find something being helpful like sleeping in certain direction, it won't hurt you... But it is in the end the mental state that matters, and if you lay there distracted wondering if the sleeping position has an effect, obviously you are not concentrated and obviously it will prevent projection. People leave body facing all direction, during full moon and not during full moon etc...

actually i don't try OBE's,,.
most of them are spontaneous occuring at early morning,,.At first i was thinkin why i wasn't having spontaneous projections , after thinkn for a while i realised that i've changed the postion of sleep(bed),& that has made all the difference.(I guess)!!
I'm still tryin'.

Then I will rephrase:
People have spontanous experiences facing all directions, as well as during and not during full moon...
Some things might increase chances, but again people have them in many kinds of situations and ways.
;)
I do not know if you practise more now or practised more during times you had spontanous experiences (practised other times than the ones you got out of body). But it is not uncommon people have more spontanous experiences during times they practise more etc...

I actually never tried much,,.
I tried some 6 or 7 months back till my first experience but after that i didn't put much effort,I started having spontaneus projection,I jus' increased the chances of projection by waking up early in the morning & trying sum simple technique like affirmations.

I've faced various directions and it doesn't seem to have any impact, although I have read in various places that you should face North-South.
I don't think it makes any difference. I have had spontaneous Astral Projections during the early morning, but I have to get up for 10 minutes when it's still early, so I'm still tired, without doing anything stressful, then lye back down again. I can Astral Project then without even trying. Incidentally, lately I've been lying East-West and I've been having more success.
I'm still usually forgetting most of my Astral Projection, although I get up remembering most of it for a very short time. I'm now making sure a pen and paper is beside me in bed at all times.
