The other day this movie was being shown by History Channel and I watched the two parts, but couldn't inspire myself to watch anymore of that. Does it even go with gnostic views?

The second episode was where John the Baptist is shown - as an insane man! The disciples are shown to be attracted towards Jesus due to the miracles he performs. And I really didn't like the depiction of Judas. Maybe it is because I like Flight of the Feathered Serpent so much.

In the book, the scene where Judas and Jesus meet other, is one of the most inspiring moments and reading it one can feel the love that Jesus emanates towards Judas, and that makes Judas follow Jesus. Contrast this with the scene in the movie, and Jesus seems unwelcoming Judas and sort of conveying - "traitor! I have to suffer you, but alright, come along!"

I didn't watch anymore part after that.

This movie is really inspiring but it is true that it is based on the catholic beliefs and perspectives.

I like the scene with Nicodimus where according to M.Samael Jesus is talking about Alchemy.

I actually actively dislike this movie.

I only made it through the first 30 minutes, but it struck me as a movie that tried too hard to be spiritual and the 'aware' look Jesus had and how slowly he did things was a little annoying.

I like Passion of Christ a lot more.

Not to rain on your parade though ;)

Thanks a lof for sharing with your perspectives about this movie, everyone!

Well, when I' watched "Jesus of Nazareth", I wished it could be put into a 3 hours maximum.
Then I also didn't like the same things like you, Manpreet and Ahona have mentioned.
While I sort of accepted the way Joseph and Mary were presented, John Baptist really looked like a wild man from the desert, completely insane in his preaching.
Yes, after personal experiences with awareness, it was annoying for me to see how actor playing Jesus tried so hard to look spiritual and to look aware. His apostles looked more like a bunch of hippies than like a men completely dedicated to be with the Master and doing the spiritual work, in my opinion.
Yes, after reading the "Flight of the Feathered Serpent", I didn't like how Judas was presented either... from the very beginning he looked like a someone you'll never trust.

But when I put aside those vadimgnostic egos of how the real drama of Jesus would look like, I really liked that movie.

I really like to learn from the Bible, and I find that "Jesus of Nazareth" gives such a good overview of the New Testament.
What the actor playing Jesus said, was taken mostly from the Bible. Some scenes were made so powerful and touching, in my opinion, and without being very advanced in spiritual work by themselves, I beleive that actors and producer have done an amazing job.

For me "Jesus of Nazareth" gave a material for personal investigations and inspired to explore personally what drama of Jesus Christ really means.

While have been watching the "Passion of the Christ" I was horrified by realizing how real and terrible was suffering of Jesus...I beleive it can be good for many interested in spiritual work to see it too, at least once.

I just wonder if ever the right time will come to create a movie about Jesus based on teachings by Samael Aun Weor, Rabolu and Belzebuub and how much of a controversy will come out as the result of it.

I can see what you mean Ahona, I also think that Jesus character was played more naturally and normally in Passion of Christ(and no frozen eyes too!), and most of the dialogues were shown as spoken in past, so it wasn't odd to hear them, but I watched it years ago and have forgotten most of it. I wish the movie didn't have so many disturbing and viloent scenes, which surely could have been avoided. Watching the movie as it is , is the worst way to add on and strengthen emotional egos, as is the case with most fo the movies. One only finds out when later on emotions attack with ferocity.

I have a different opinion about the intelligence of the writer of the Flight of the Feathered Serpent. This is not a book just an average person can write. There is no mention of whether he took up the path to really understand Judas. But as he mentioned, the book is not meant to be an autobiography, and we can only know about him what he has chosen to share with the readers.

He has started the book with his own experiences, we can see some of his qualities, like his ability to be honest with himself, and to pray with sincerity, and there is a certain dignity in him. He wants money but is not ready to marry some rich stupid lady for that! He goes on to explain the circumstances that slowly transform him to a materiliastic person, deep into troubles and he is about to loose his basic goodness, all that experience that made him wiser.

He carefully challenges reader to try to understand the man, and when he writes the so called enigmas of his friend - one's mind is focussed on those. Hopefully what he did not understood at the time of writing, he understood later on.

Maybe it is better to look for Judas and Jesus inside us. Let's not remain only in the historic aspect of this drama and what was true and what incorrect.

We betray Christ and we crussify Him with great delight and this looks very correct when we do it.
