Tony Trenaman

Tony’s Story

I’d attended a number of different self-development courses and seminars, and read some books on the subject since first learning to meditate at the age of 18. Initially it was about finding better ways to achieve various goals I was pursuing. For example, I’d learned to meditate because I believed it would help me to concentrate better, and therefore become more proficient with reading music. Then it was about courses and techniques helping me to focus more effectively on a career as a musician, and later becoming more proficient in other businesses in the pursuit of personal wealth. Many of these courses had varying degrees of spiritual content, and I found myself leaning more and more towards that direction.

One day I was walking down the street near my place in Newtown when I saw a poster advertising the Astral course. I thought to myself “Yeah, I think it’s a good time for me to learn about Astral Travel” and off I went to the intro talk, held in a hall over at Bondi. And that was it, my life gradually changed forever and I’ve never looked back.

More and more over time I’ve focused on Gnosis as being my reason for being, and worked toward letting go of the things that compete with it for my attention. This has not been a quick or easy task but has proved tremendously rewarding. I’ve battled many attachments, continuing as I do to this day, with many more to go. More and more, things I once thought important pale into insignificance as I continue with what I now consider to be the greatest adventure, and the only real thing worth living for.

It’s interesting pondering the adage “when the student is ready the teacher will appear”, and also the various carrots placed in front of the donkey, so to speak, leading us to find what we’re really looking for. I’ve always said, “I wasn’t looking for God, I was just trying to become a better guitar player”.
