Athens Gnostic Center

The first of its kind in Europe, the Athens Gnostic Center gives Gnosis a home in the heart of Athens. Located in the central neighborhood of Kalithea, the center is easily accessible from the bustling city but remains pleasantly secluded from the noise and commotion of urban life. Hosting regular courses and practices, the center is also the hub for a wide range of other spiritual activities, including nature walks, retreats, social events, and much more.

The Center

Since 2004, the Center has opened its doors to many hundreds of spiritual seekers, creating an energetic and strengthening atmosphere that many notice immediately. The center offers a large main lecture space, which can accommodate upwards of 60 people. Group exercises happen in one of several spacious practice rooms; these are calm and peaceful environments, allowing the mind and body to relax and encouraging inner focus. A small cafe completes the picture, creating a friendly setting that warms and welcomes. 
 

The People

Coming from all walks of life, the people attending the Athens Gnostic Center represent a diverse selection of the city’s population. However, they all share a deep-rooted interest in exploring the possibilities of life and an urge to experience the spiritual. Through this mutual search, people often form strong friendships, sharing advice and experiences and offering each other encouragement and support. 
 

The Activities

The whole series of Gnostic Movement courses are on offer at the Athens Gnostic Center. But courses are just the beginning. Frequent practices give everyone a chance to investigate the course material more deeply and to explore powerful spiritual techniques. Astral projection, mantras, meditation, and yoga asanas are just some of the exercises available. The center is also an ideal place to relax with friends, sip a cup of tea, enjoy a discussion, or watch a spiritual film.

Activities also extend beyond the center, including many excursions out into the natural beauty of the Greek outdoors. Absorbing the sights and sounds of nature, people gain fresh insights into the spiritual within and discover moments of peace. Multi-day retreats, which occur regularly, are a particular favourite; these outings allow a more sustained exploration of spirituality in the awesome setting of the Greek mountains, surrounded by fresh air, trees, and the relics of an ancient past.
