Michael Sinclair
Michael’s Biography
Michael Sinclair has always been very gifted and diligent and has excelled at anything that captivated his interest. In his childhood, Michael began cultivating beautiful artistic skills when many children his age were just content with playing games. When he’d conquered art he expanded his horizons to martial arts where through much practice he earned himself a black belt and became a martial arts instructor, a position that he held for two years. Yet, neither these talents nor others were bringing Michael any real sense of fulfillment and he explained that he continually felt a heavy uneasiness about life. Still looking for that fulfillment, Michael took up music and wound up joining a band.
It was around this time when Michael got an insight into what he was looking for. And this insight, believe it or not, came from the movie, “The Matrix.” From this movie he saw the potential to go beyond what could ordinarily be seen and to personally see what’s going on in life. Shortly thereafter Michael was introduced to the internet and the vast amount of information available at his fingertips impressed him greatly. Michael began searching online for anything that could help him in this pursuit. After spending countless hours searching he came across the online courses at Gnosticweb in 2002. At this point in time, he and his band had been practicing very hard; Michael had invested a lot of money into his guitar and other expensive equipment, had spent lots of time writing songs and there was certainly the potential to make it big. This brought up a lot of inner conflict…
The courses at Gnosticweb offered Michael practical tools to look into the greater truths of life and he took a great interest in them, gaining spiritual experiences and being very dedicated. Through his new experiences such as gaining insights into his own psychology, feeling greater peace and having out-of-body experiences, the whole lifestyle of the band began to eat away at him. The anger, the aggression and the feelings Michael often experienced in the band seemed to be taking him in a completely opposite direction to the spirituality he was now experiencing and finding so fulfilling. Michael then knew he had to make a really hard decision and he chose to leave the band and dedicate himself to the spiritual. Michael sold all his band equipment which then helped him to afford a big move up to Quebec from the USA to attend the Montreal centre. Once at the centre he began to assist with the teaching and lend a hand wherever else he could.
Michael has great carpentry skills and they came in handy at the Montreal centre. He also began to teach in the Dreams and Out-of-Body Experiences course online. Presently Michael teaches at the Berkeley centre where his carpentry skills and many other talents have helped the centre and online community grow: Michael has written articles for the website, designed images for Gnosticweb and has worked on the video team, recently conducting interviews for a future production. He has taken the initiative to design and print the new “Flight of the Feathered Serpent” and Pentagram posters for Gnosticweb. In the past he has and continues to be an organizer of many mini-retreats for students at the centre, contributing much energy and inspiration to the group. Through all his hard work and sacrifices Michael became a teacher in 2007. As a teacher he is a very warm and open individual, relating well with the students. He is described as down-to-earth, highly motivated and practical. Michael is a truly dedicated instructor and a great source of strength to his fellow teachers and students.
Some words from Michael
I came to Gnosis from a lifestyle that was quite counterproductive to spirituality. Back in those days, I constantly felt an uneasiness about the life I was living and yearned to find some kind of deeper meaning... something that went beyond mere beliefs. Eventually, that uneasiness led me to find the free courses that Gnosticweb offered online. As I engaged in the courses, I experienced this amazing feeling of revelation – I had finally found something of real substance. I was relieved to see the non-intrusive way the author communicated and how he encouraged that we 'verify things for ourselves' in order to not fall into the traps of blind belief.
As I worked to get the techniques taught in the courses to yield results, I gradually started to see them. From my first conscious out-of-body experiences, to the moments of blissful peace, and to the knowledge and wisdom I've accumulated through the deep study of my own psychology, I've come to see that the power of gnosis is quite transcendental to anything I've ever even heard of before and worth pursuing whole-heartedly. It has become an extremely evident truth for me that individual spiritual growth depends very much upon deeds of unconditional love towards humanity. Since greater things can be accomplished through the efforts of a group, rather than just by me alone, I've chosen to help this organization accomplish its mission of getting this information available to everyone. This choice has put me into all kinds of challenging and helpful situations and has led me to this point where I'm striving to help the Berkeley Center become a stronghold of strength and guidance for anyone who is interested in personal change and higher experience.
