Hi, I have been trying several techniques to travel recently and get to the point where my face vibrates and I see very fast flashing white lights. I can hear myself snoring when I get to this point, and I am very conscious, not dreaming at all. Then I get really excited that something will happen while I am this conscious and the sensations subside. I try to start over again, but can't achieve the same relaxed state in that same session. I know I am almost paralyzed at that point because when I finally give up and come out of it, I have to wake up very slowly and stretch. I believe that I am raised up out of my body a couple of inches (cuz that's what it literally feels like) and I have to take the time to get all the way back in. But, recently, I was sleeping and I woke up in my sleep paralyzed. I usually panic when this happens to me and slowly wake myself up by forcing myself to wiggle a toe. Since finding out about astral travel and that this is an ideal state to do it in, this time I totally relaxed and I just sat up out of my body. There was no effort whatsoever. But, this seemed dream like because I could not see clearly at all. Everything was very dingy, but it was broad daylight outside. I was absolutely delighted that I was out of my body and I was jumping on the bed, letting my head fly up to the ceiling and a little bit through it. I was almost flying, but then I became grounded and had to walk around. I remember everything clearly, like it was something I actually did. Then, there was another person in the room that I was interacting with who just showed up. I cannot remember the transition from being alone, jumping and walking around and having this other person show up. I laid back in bed into my body, but I was still separate. Then, after talking to this person, I actually went back into my body and woke up. I can describe this person with many details. Did I really get out of my body, or was this just a dream? How can you really, honestly tell? I want to be very practical about this and not get all caught up in my own fantasy. |

I just read "Yes or no, is astral travel real." it's funny I didn't see this topic until after I blabbed all over the place. I know it's real. lol
I think I just need further development to clarify my sight and other "physical" skills in the astral plane. Development like getting rid of being practical. lol
After reading a bunch of other posts here, I feel very fortunate that I can do what I have done so far without a lot of preparation or practice working on concentration, etc. I have been meditating since I was a young girl and used to give healings to people when I was a young teen. I just had never heard of astral travel before. All of my astral travel has been done when I have woken up in my sleep paralyzed. I have had some scary experiences with this and always thought it was a dream, even though I can recall those experiences like a real memory and not a dream memory that fades away and loses detail.
I already know about protection and always surround myself with white and golden light. I also naturally put up a protective circle of white light around the room I am in. I never knew that was an actual technique. I thought I made that up. lol
Bottom line is, after thinking about this, astral projection/travel is obvious if you believe that there is life after death of the physical body.

Hi Dusty,
Welcome to Gnosticweb.
Yes, it sounds very much like you have projected... likely many times. Congratulations many times over :)
The vibrations you are feeling are quite common in astral projecting, but as you have already seen, we can easily get wound up thinking something is going to happen and then lose the momentum in the practice. With time, it becomes more natural and we don't get so "identified" with these sensations.
Regarding the dinginess of your experience, that may have been due to aspects of your subconscious. In the astral, our subconscious, our thoughts, etc. can take upon a more tangible role than here in the physical, and this sometimes means things get blurry. Practicing awareness (just being in the moment – taking in the information from our five senses and keeping ourselves clear of unnecessary thoughts, unpleasant emotions, etc.) in daily life is really helpful in bringing clarity to our astral travels.
Experience and an overall spiritual development are really the only factors that can assure us objectivity in our experiences. With more experience, we naturally develop a deeper understanding of what is happening. And by developing spiritually, we can reduce various elements of our psyche that make our experiences more dreamlike and less objective, and thereby have more conscious and clear experiences.
It's really nice to hear that those experiences that used to scare you no longer do. I was sort of in the same boat a while back - experiencing some things related to the astral and being scared until I finally understood them.
Yeah, astral projection is perhaps "obvious" if we have that hunch/feeling there is life beyond this world. But as I’m sure you'd agree, it's still really nice to experience it because then we have personal testimony of it and I find that it is much more fulfilling than just a hunch.
Great to hear of your experiences. I wish you many more!
Mike

You have to trust yourself, when I branched off from gnosticweb and went to my Dad to learn, since he started this 20 - 30 years ago, he had an experience that scared him away from it, and he's just now getting back into it after some rough times. I also started getting into it, it's something we can talk about. But Im quitting my video game addiction. I know it sounds funny but it is as strong an addiction as anything else, maybe not as strong but it is hard none the less. I felt verry stressed, feeling like I didn't beleive in meditation and projection and all of this, and If I didnt beleive why would I still be sitting here not playing games, still attempting to get rid of the addiction. I find great peace in meditation even though what I do right now is "guided" meditation, through audio files on the net, it helps me out alot. I know this reply has gone off topic alot, but the point i'm trying to say is. Trust yourself, trust your intuition. Your path has crossed with this website and this content for a reason, and also this experience of AP. Be true to yourself. This is what my dad has taught me, and im starting to not feel like im following his path, but finding my own, and this is an extremely good feeling.
To everyone here, good luck, peace, love, and let the divine shine in all of your lives.

Hi MikeL,
Thanks for your reply & suggestions. I am always so deep in thought that I do not take time to be really aware in daily life. Someone recently started working for me that is acutely aware of what is going on around him and I have been trying to train myself to be more like that. It's funny that you brought that up, that must be my next step that I need to work on.
Yes, even though astral projection is "obvious", it is wonderful to experience it. I am taking the class in January and I really want to go to the pyramids and really be there, fully.

Hi JohnM,
Thanks for your reply. Anything can be addicting and be a serious addiction. It's not the thing that's addicting, it's the person that's addicted. Does that make sense?
I LOVE guided meditation. It is very helpful. As a suggestion, you might try Brainsync's Healing meditation to help with the video game thing. This meditation is extremely powerful and helps you to imagine yourself the way you want to be. If you like the style of this meditation, then I would suggest the Secret meditation after that. (Also through Briansync). This one is meant to be listened to while falling asleep. It is extremely powerful too.
Thanks for sharing your journey with me and the suggestions of trusting myself, my intuition & to be true to myself. Three things that I do not presently do. Thanks for giving me this to work on.

Thanks I'll try those guided meditations, anything to help is very welcomed at this point. Yes I didn't do those things very much anymore, I was sort of a follower, trying to change that now.
**Edit, dang you have to pay for them haha. I tried a sample it sounds very "high tech" compared to the ones I were listening too, they were just talks, these are actually sort of like the hemi sync ones I listened to a while ago, any chance you have copies of some, and would be able to copy them and transfer to me somehow?

How can we go about this, e-mail? Are the files small enough to get through yahoo or something, if so my email is johnmanges2005@yahoo.com , if they're too big of files to get through email we'll need to brainstorm. But a big thank you dusty, takes a load off my chest, there were quite a few mp3's that looked interesting to me, hopefully you have some that i'd like or could use.

When you want to quit an addiction, also try the reason why you got addicted in the first place, meditate on this proper to see which egos are behind it.
It will help a lot, as well as finishing with any ego.
