The earliest dream memory I have was when I was at least 6 years old. I figure that I probably had a lot of dreams before then, but I can't recall any of them. This one stuck out because it was repetitive and a bit scary though. So, I was wondering if this is the norm or if others remember dreams from an earlier age. How old were you when you had the first dream that you can remember? |

I think that the earliest memory of a dream is before I start going to school...which also might be around 6 years of age. One of the earliest dream I remember (perhaps even the first one I remember?) was the most inspiring dream i ever had. Many early childhood dreams were just so different and profound.

Hi Gabrielle,
Yeah, the first dreams that I recall were around that age... hard to pinpoint exactly... around 4-6 years old I suppose.
One of them was quite neat since it may have been a memory from a past life (I think the memory came from a dream, anyway). There was nothing in my life at the time that would have made me dream what I dreamt.
Another one, like yours, was a recurring dream. It always had a disconcerting feel to it and I kept having it for many years. I no longer have the dream - haven't for a long time - but soon after finding these courses I was able to understand it. I think this dream among others that stuck out in my memory in my youth were some of the assisting factors in my eventually finding these courses. Dreams really fascinated me along with other esoteric subjects.
Thanks for the topic.
Sweet dreams, all!

That's interesting that you both had some profound/spiritual dreams as children. I can't recall having any of that nature until later in my teens.
That's really cool that you had some dreams that led you to find the courses, Mike. That's an interesting point about having dreams at a young age about things you couldn't have known. Hopefully, you will get to verify whether it was from a past life one day!
Something else I was wondering is whether it is easier for babies and young children to enter the 6th dimension, as opposed to the astral, when falling sleeping. Their minds are likely more clear at the time of falling asleep, so it seems more likely. Babies tend to smile often while sleeping, so perhaps this is why :)

Yes I also had dreams that would happen almost every night it seems like. I was up ontop of a waterfall looking down into a bay, of what looked like something from peter pan. Pirate ships, and masses and masses of people with stepping stones in a curved line. I would jump off the waterfall into the bay and I guess after that I lost awareness and I dont remember it clearly after that. But last night I had a very profound dream, well, I had like 2 or 3 but 2 really stand out to me, I dont know if they were the same dream but, I was in a grocery store. And there was this man that me and I beleive someone else were escaping from, I would run behind tables of cakes and sweets and all sorts of things trying to hide, and I also remember that I had a sort of "minimap" on my "screen" of the dream, and I could see all these markers of bad guys running around and I was going around them, later on my "fat kid" sence took over haha, I took a cake with blue frosting on it, and gorged on it. After that I would run to what seemed the end of the "track" and I would be in a dark hallway with a door, where I would open the door and go through, the presence was gone. The almost hell like presence that I knew was extremely bad, and strong was gone, he seemed nice, but he was deceitful. He seemed good but I knew deep down he was hell. He was trying to kill me and the other person but we kept getting away, and the other dream I had I think I went to the astral, I beleive I became conscious. I didn't even think I was aware in my dream. But I had a sence I was going to die, something was going to hurt me, and I was freaking out because It was as real as it is sitting here typing this, almost more real it seems like. Crisp as anything, and I didnt have the cloudy dream mind I have when im asleep, everything was clear. It was very weird. It might be because I had done a guided meditation that taught me a technique to be aware, and to bring my awareness back to my hands that were sitting at my sides when a thought came in, if you'd like to check out the video because I think i've left quite a long message, this would just add immense amounts to it haha. http://www.fhu.com/meditation.html
Thats it.

I know what you mean about having dreams that feel even more real than waking life. To me, this is some proof that there is something important behind them and that they aren't just to be disregarded. It sounds like you had some symbolic dreams there.
I think cake may be symoblic for something..I've seen it in my dream before but always thought it was because I really like to eat cake :) Maybe there it represents something else though.
Thanks for the link, John. I'll check it out.

Hi everyone,
I am enjoying reading about these dreams. As far as I can remember back, this may either have been a dream or an OBE but it was before I could walk or talk, I walked about 7 months so I was probably a half-year old.
I would be floating around the living room and wanting to play with my toys. I remember thinking "Oh yea, I can't walk yet..." then going back to my room and waking up in my crib.
It may seem odd to consider that a child being that young is able to comprehend that they can't walk yet but know they will learn soon. Could it be me remembering the last past life that I could walk in I wonder?
I think people don't realise just how aware children are sometimes. I see parents that way underestimate how their children or don't give them enough credit towards comprehending things because they forget how they were when they were that young.

I have ben thinking over this. Though I do remember many incidents from my early childhood, but I could not recall any dream. The earliest memory of a dream was a winter of when I was around 11 years, and I had a dream that I was not able to drink water in the school. It was a very vivid dream - the next thing I know is that I got severely dehydrated and was taken ill after that.
Reminds me to drink more water, as I forget to take enough fluids in the winters.

I personaly can't recall the dreams I had before 6 or I remember some small bits but can't put them in time period.I remember I think that was the first year I had to go to school I had a dream of going there and that I didn't have a lot of time to prepare so I woke up and began to dress up and hurry and then my mother woke up and asked me Where are you going? I told her where and I said I don't have much time and I will be late and she began to explain to me that it was Sunday or Saturday and it is early in the morning so they don't work then and I am not going anywhere.I kept saying I had to go and I didn't realize what my mother said could be true so it took some time for me to realize and I think I shared I dreamt that. It was funny! If my mother didn't wake up I could walk around the streets alone. lol

Hi, all,
Thanks for shariing.
Apakhana that's very interesting how you remember that experience. :) I wish I could return that far and remember what I was like as a baby.
The first dream/OBE I remember was somewhere around the age of 5-6. I remember having this recurring dream how at night I get up from my bed, pass through the window and slowly fall towards the ground. We were living on the 7th floor then and as I kept falling my speed would increase so I got scared that I will hurt myself and then I woke up. Then I kept telling my parents how I dream the same thing every night, and they wouldn't know how to explain that :)

To Mike: I'd love to know more about your past life memory dreams. I think I've had something similar recently.
There are two dreams that I can remember from my early childhood... around the 4-6 year old range like everyone else.
The first is of swimming to the bottom of the deep end of our swimming pool and then realizing that I couldn't breath underwater. I swam to the surface, but couldn't reach it in time, so I inhaled under water and was surprised to find out that I could breath water instead. I've had that dream repeatedly and I always filled a sense of excitement and joy afterwards!
The second is a recurring nightmare. I'd wake-up in my dream and be lying in my bed. Then I'd see these grotesque 3 foot high things standing in the doorway staring at me like they wanted to come in from the hallway. I'd try to scream, but be so overcome with fear that I could make a sound.
Thanks for the topic Gabrielle. I'm really enjoying reading what others have to say!
