I had a very strange experience concerning Edgar Cayce. I am from the United Kingdom and had never heard of him.
I went to bed I try to go to sleep in meditation if that makes sense. I found myself flying in a superman pose.
I was flying with real intent and purpose I had no control over my actions it was simply happening to me. I found
myself flying very high over water there was a rushing sound in my ears. It was in a sort of twilight lighting.
It went on for a considerable time I then started to descend. I landed on a grass lawn in front of a largish low storied
buidling. I walked up some steps opened a french window and entered a room. There was a gathering of people all with
their backs too me wearing dark clothes. I couldnt think why I was there and I backed up to the windows and flew off.
In a very short time I landed at the foot off a small stone bridge. I was in a kneeling position. I looked up to see right
in front of me a man wearing a pin striped suit, he had gold glasses on that were glinting and silver hair cut in a short back and sides style. He seemed somehow illuminated. He never moved at all. He spoke to me without opening his mouth,
He said I am Edgar Cayce, and then spelt Cayce. He then said 'What does your consciousness mean to you"
I couldn"t think at all my mind was just overwhelmed. I then knew it was the 1940"s.
I am unsure if he said leave but I turned and flew back to the house I had been in. I walked in through the french windows and walked across to the gathering they turned to me and I said " I have just been with your father, I'm sorry , I'm very
sorry. They broke down. I again back up to the windows and flew off into the night.
The following morning a I was in total shock I just kept reliving the whole thing over and over again.
I went through some books to see if there was a mention of an Edgar Cayce but found nothing. For around 2 weeks
I just kept reliving the experience. I used to sell music and I was in a large UK Bookchain called "Watersones"
The buyer was busy and said I'll be with you in 10 minutes. I walked around the bookstore and there in front
of me on a table was a book "The World's Greatest Psychic Edgar Cayce" on the mysteries of the mind.
Without opening it I purchased it . As soon as I got home I read it and spoke to my condition.
There were no photgraphs inside the book. At the very back it said for UK readers there is a Edgar Cayce study centre
in Durham ( a northern city in England)
I wrote to the centre explaining my experience and they kindly wrote back and enclosed 3 photos of Edgar.
One as a child , one with his wife , and third was identical to the image I had been with.
I wrote back and said " same guy different suit"
I wrote to the ARE ( Association for Research and Enlightment in Virginia Beach. They sent me a formal letter
back thanking me for my interest and enclosed their magazine "Venture Inward" as I leafed through the magazine
I found myself staring at the building I had entered, there was the lawn , the stairs. Underneath the picture it
said " formerly the Edgar Cayce hospital now the administration block for the ARE.
I would guess from where I live to Virginia Beach would be several thousand miles across the Atlantic.
I have had 2 more meetings

Thank you so much :) Not only were you in Virginia Beach, but were you in 1945 as well? He died 1945.
You might find a book called My Life as a Seer interesting. His own words are in there, from diaries, short essays, speeches, etc., not from his readings but actually from his waking state.
Very good to hear those kinds of experiences.

I have since read a number of books about him.
Indeed thats where wretched aspirant comes from.
It was a phrase he used.

I liked your story. I have a book on Mu/Atlantis and it's has some info about Cayce and his sights into those particular places.
You probably know more about it than me though already. Just thought I'd mantion it. Alot of his information is strange but also is the same or close to what some Kabbalists teach in their oral traditions regarding pre-Adamistic civillisations.

I had a similar experience but mine was not in an OBE, it was when I went to the Adyar bookshop in Sydney 12 yrs ago with my husband, we were looking around, then I went into an other section and a book just fell of the shelf and landed at my feet it was called Discovering Your Soul’s Purpose by: Mark Thurston – (he wrote his book based on the readings of Edgar Cayce and was inspired by this great man) at the same time my husband had accumulated a whole lot of books and we met at the counter and bought our book and left, later at home I showed him the book that fell in front of me and he had a ghostly look to him and said; that the same thing happened to me, so we pick out the mysterious books and had a look and to our surprise they were both to do with Edgar Cayce – (his book was “The Sleeping Prophet” Cayce, Karma & Reincarnation).
I am a strong believer that when the student is ready the master shall appear one way or an other. Since then we have accumulated many books by Cayce and many more even though we may not have had the time to read then all (my problem was I was illiterate for many years till I taught myself to read and write) and only now am I able to discover the wonder of the books we have…

Wow, Shirley Maclaine , the American actress, had the same incident as you.
She was in a bookstore and ( I think it was the "There is a River" fell of
the shelf to her feet. She went on to be a big follower of Cayce.

Someone here had told a story of themselves having the same thing happen with Belzebuub's Astral Travel and Dreams book in a library :)
Certainly when the pupil is ready the Master appears, and sometimes the Master appears long before the pupil is ready ;) The disciple is never greater than his Master.

Hi, Derek! Interesting experience. I have read some of Cayce's books and they seem to be very interesting. Most of them in line with the Gnostic teachings.
I had a similar experience but mine was not in an OBE, it was in the physical plane and when I was very little. It was not with Mr Cayce, but with Master Samael. Back then I lived with my family in South America and I was with my father. He was listening to the news on an old radio. Then I heard when the news reporter literally said: "Master SAW has died and his ashes will be scattered on the Caribbean sea...". I did not know anything about Gnosis at that time and I had never ever heard of the Master before, but when I heard that piece of news, I felt as if I had heard or known that name before and I was very intrigued and I could never forget that. Later on, when I found out about Gnosis, I finally realized what was going on.
