Ahoy!

I need some assistance with interpretation of some parts of the Gospel of Thomas. I would highly appreciate help with comprehending of these two sayings:

---
The disciples said to Jesus, "Tell us, how will our end come?"
Jesus said, "Have you found the beginning, then, that you are looking for the end? You see, the end will be where the beginning is.
Congratulations to the one who stands at the beginning: that one will know the end and will not taste death."
---
Jesus said, "Congratulations to the one who came into being before coming into being.
If you become my disciples and pay attention to my sayings, these stones will serve you.
For there are five trees in Paradise for you; they do not change, summer or winter, and their leaves do not fall. Whoever knows them will not taste death."
---
In the first of the sayings, is Jesus trying to explain his disciples that one needs to eliminate all material aspects of ourselves (egos) prior to returning to the origin (Light)? Or do we have to remember all our past lives?

Regarding the second fragment, I can’t figure out what five trees do we need to know. Is it something to do with the aspects/levels of our own being?

Any input into interpretation of the above sayings will be highly appreciated.

May the Force be with you!

Hi Swavy,

Beginning-end-2 opposites, end can be end of the physical life, end of the mundane life in daydreaming, or end of the ego; beginning -birth -Alchemy?
Came into being before coming into being -have done the Work already?
Creation of superior bodies allows not to taste death.
So, 5 can mean 5 created Solar bodies, in this context, maybe? 5 can also mean 5 senses.

It can be some other way around, or have a totally different meaning.

Just in case if you have not taken it already, Alchemy and Solar Bodies are topics of Gnostic Wisdom course.

All the best!

hello,

The first one I think is about starting the path of the 3 keys. The end is the end of the third mountain.

The second one I think is what Vadim mentioned.
If one has created solar bodies in previous lifes, then they will stay, you will need to raise the kundalini in these higher bodies at sonme point and finish the path to not taste death.

no beginning, no end.
find who is looking
and it will be painfully obvious

2nd:
the one is you
stop looking and see yourself

No, They are talking about the ego.

We have to remember back to the begin

when we set the ego the first time,

in that way, if we are very sorry for that,

calling the holy mother the adept is

coming free from the karma what

he has already set, and so we are

very happy when we remember the

first activ ego of jealousy, per exaple.

Thankyou everyone for the replies.

Regarding the sayings from the Gospel of Thomas, now I see it that we must completely change ourselves (become like babes – free of egos) to stand at the beginning. Thankyou for helping us with getting a better understanding of this extraordinary document.

May the Force be with you.

Hi

I see the first one as refering to the path maybe.

You can not look for, or see the end if you have not found, or started at the beginning. If you know the end you will not taste death...

2nd saying could refer to the 5 aspects of our mother kundalini which we have to work with in order to eliminate the ego. Also refers to the five-legged Cow or five pointed star. On page 80-81 of the three mountains master Samael reaffirms that He extensively works with the 5 powers of the sacred Cow. He describes each of the 5 in five short stories..

Kind Regards

Jaco
