Does anyone know if she is genuine? She claims to be Gnostic, and she has published many books dealing with psychic phenomenon, esotericism, mysticism, etc. I was thinking about reading a couple of her books, "Contacting Your Spirit Guide", and "Secrets and Mysteries of the World", and "The Mystical Life of Jesus: An Uncommon Perspective on the Life of Christ", because these books deal with themes that interest me very much.

I'd like to hear what some of you think if any of you have read any of her books.

Me personally I beleive she is a fraud, just because whenever you see her make a "Prediction" You can always tell by the peoples face that she wasnt even close. Also, she claims to be a medium, which has a very heavy karmic cycle attatched to the practices.

How do you know it has a very heavy karmic cycle attached to the practices?

If a "master" looks like the real person when you call them in the astral, how do you know that it isn't just your mind creating it because of what you have seen in the physical?

When going to the pyramids, there is a lot of visualisation on pictures of the pyramids first, how do we know that isn't to help feed the mind to create a false experience of pyramids?

Apparently if you expect the master to be a demon and invoke him, it will appear as a demon, is that not implying that our beliefs and thoughts are creating the experience rather than the truth?

How do we "know" what we are seeing is true...?

And if you haven't called a master, and haven't seen in the astral that to be a medium has a very heavy karmic cycle, then I repeat to you, how do you know this?

If you don't know it, why do you say it as if you do?

Okay. Thanks for the reponses, guys!

Does anyone believe that spirit guides are real, at least? I've always liked the idea of spirit guides or guardian angels. But I haven't heard any stories on this site about people meeting their spirit guides in the astral.

I kind of look at my divine parents as spirit guides. I've not seen them in the astral, but felt their presence.

I say I know because i've read on several other posts that doing things such as being a medium can have a heavy karmic cycle.

It's obvious to me that someone is watching out for me or I'd have been dead a few times over...

In the occult lore I am familiar with however, the goal of one's great work is to meet your "Holy Guardian Angel" which is your being, like what gnosticweb pushes here.
Unfortunately there are certain organizations lost to exotericism accepting that you can perform rituals to accomplish this, to incorporate your HGA into your being; But as far as I know, alchemy is the only way to do this. Work in the "9th phere" etc....

When you accomplish going into the absolute and coming back, your are given the rank Ipsisimus like in some freemasonry and other ridiculous circles. Ranks and degrees don't mean you have Christified yourself.

With too many people on the wrong track, you have to wonder though, is anyone/spirit guides looking out for all of us or just a few?

Hey Steven

I myself have experienced many strange feelings the past year or so give or take. There are times where i felt protected by a pressence, and there have been times i have sensed fear from whatever pressence was around my space.

I believe i have multiple spirit guides, i have even gotten the name of one of my guides, to call upon him whenever i needed help. But what i have noticed from my own experience is that, my spirit guide has asked me to do things to help people, but i was too afraid of what people may think of me if i actually did this, i felt it was silly so i never showed anyone what i had learned. And im still struggling with this, but i know it will help someone if i was to show them.

I know this sounds strange and i only told my girlfriend about what i was shown. Maybe one day i will teach someone what i was taught and hopefully change someones life. Im just too scared at the moment.

I have recently lost touch with my spirit guide, i havent been listening and i have been slacking on my meditations, and spiritual work. Which i think is pushing me away from my guide.

Maybe im losing touch because i stopped listening.

I also believe in healing teachers, as i have met one in meditation, who guides me also, when i LISTEN.

I think what it all comes down to is BELIEVING that we are being helped in all aspects of life, its just up to us to listen or we could choose to ignore.

Have a great day/night

Hello Steven:

I think you should read Sylvia's books and decide for yourself. I enjoy her books, I have found much information within them, and certainly as a Gnostic I try to look at everything, weigh the pros and cons, take what feels right to me, what feels correct and logically makes sense and leave behind the rest.

To flame Sylvia and Montel with all their philanthropic pursuits and good works that they are trying to do and lump everything they do into one idea to try to sway someone with your own opinion is not very Gnostic.

Everyone should look for spirituality as is appropriate for them. If Syvia's books help you to begin to explore and understand and make sense to you, who cares if she doesn't come across well on the TV.

I say, take the plunge and see what you learn.

Steven,

I have watched Sylvia Browne many times on the Montel show and believe she is for real. The reason some think she is a fraud is because she is not right 100% of the time. She is a human being and will not get every prediction right every time which she is the first to tell you that. She has been right plenty of times and I do look up some follow ups on people who got readings from her. I do believe she needs to be careful on what she chooses to reveal on emotional subjects such as murder in case she is wrong. As far as her books go, I recommend them. I read some of her books before I knew what Gnosticism even was and much of the information hit home with me. Her books are very interesting and good. I believe she is a great spiritual teacher in my opinion.
Love, light and peace, Christy J.
