Last night I tried some of the methods descibed by Robert Bruce of breath concentration and energy build up into your chakras and also made an attempt at the rope method. While doing the energy build up, bringing energy through my feet into the major chakras I felt some intense tingling throughout my arms and legs and a very warm tingling sensation in my stomach area. At this point I tried not to focus on the feeling too much and tried to keep climbing the Rope. I think I even entered into a trance state. I am not positive as I have never done it before but it was something I have never felt before so that would be my best guess. As I kept pulling up I felt vibrations increasing inside me and it almost felt as though my bed were shaking underneath me for a second. I could almost literally feel my self "coming out". I think I then became so excited that I broke my concentration. I could still feel all the tingling and everything but could not focus on climbing the rope anymore. I had to give up. I tried later on in the night but could not acheive the level that I was at previously so I just went to sleep. The feeling of all the energy rushing through me by doing the energy build up exercise was amazing! I am going to try again tonight with more success hopefully. Any tips? Wish me luck! :o) |

Hi Khafre
You don't need all those energy exercises to astral project, and many of things can turn out to be harmful in a long term run.
For astral projection you relax your body well and then you move on to the concentration exercise. Just stay concentrated on the exercise, on one thing, until you have clear signs that you projected into the astral and don't let yourself distract by the sensations and the feelings.
If you haven't seen it yet take a look at the concentration video:

And here is some information about relaxation:

Good luck

Hi Khafre,
It's nice to hear about your progress, great start!
It seems that you are going to the right direction. Perhaps, it's about keep doing what you are doing, and eventually you will just get used to the astral sensations and they won't cause much excitement. Excitement can be caused by fear of unknown as well as by expectations of what the astral projection is...thus it's great to cultivate calm and confident attitude, with determination and persistence.
As probably you can see now, concentration is so vital for the astral projection. Concentration practices during the day can increase the chances to project during the night. In the process of learning to astral project, sufficient concentration practices are just vital to learn from own experiences how to concentrate.
Also, for the progress with astral projection, it can be very helpful to concentrate on the things you do during the day. To "concentrate on everything" is likely to ask too much from yourself, for now. So, maybe you can choose a few specific activities and practice complete concentration on them, for example, concentrate on driving to your workplace and back, concentrate on the work with computer, washing dishes, etc. It can help both to develop the skill to focus the mind and to improve the performance in those activities, in those examples, to drive more safe, do the computer work better, wash the dishes faster, etc.
Good luck tonight!
