Two nights a go I had a memorable flying dream which started out as myself flying or jumping from building to building as if testing my new ability and very soon, soaring reasonably low about two hundred feet above the countryside moving fast towards a morning sunrise. As I am still finding work a pain I need some help interperating what the flying dream could mean as if I had my way, I would fly forever ? I do remember running and ( don't laugh ) flapping my arms and then complete freedom. Obviously this is no way this first flying dream I've had, but each one is special. |

It is what you feel it is. It's a taste of inner freedom. As soon as your mind starts to desire it, freedom is becoming imprisoned.
Keep up the work Andrei and you will see what is what.

Heh. Cool.
One night on my holiday in our old house in Croatia, I went to sleep wanting to dream.
The result was rather interesting.
I wrote it down in pencil on three pages, but forgot to take them back home.
I can remember the most important parts anyway.
At the beginning, we were a bunch of people researching some ancient mystical symbols, and we found a small dune on the beach (more like a small hill actually, quite big) and we went to the top, set up some electrical equipment. Then a huge wave came and it went up one side of the hill and back into the sea down the other. This is the (some name with an F, probably German, fraisenhauer or something lol) effect.
The wave left behind dead unicorns and large dragon eggs. hah.
They were fairly large, but light enough to carry in one hand.
Apparently they had some weird powers.
Then we were on the beach near our house in Scheveningen, walking away from the big coca cola sign. Though it was different, similar, and it could have been like that, but I've never seen it like that before, big stands set up (ones made of metal poles and polyester).
We met a guy who knew nothing about this, he found an egg. He hadn't used his egg yet, maybe they're for teleportation or something. He offered us his, thinking we'd have a better use for it.
We used it, and we sort of flew into the air, not high, maybe 3 meters, then back down. Sort of like in the crappy movie Stardust, if you've seen it. There was an African woman with her sister or something in that stand i described, and around that time I notice a stinging feeling in my hand.
I noticed that in my dreams, I never really FEEL real pain, like i would when awake, but sort of a mild stinging feeling, like when you fall and land on your hands and they really sting.
So I look at my right hand and see this big gaping hole in it. Not all the way through, just sort of the skin is all messed up. like folded towards the inside of my hand. Sick, lol.
I run down the beach looking for someone that might be able to help me.
I run back, not very far, to that stand, and ask the woman for help.
She looks at her Mac running windows in VirtualBox, and when she exits it, OSX is in 8 bit color mode, weird. She looks up how to fix exploded hands on the internet, but its taking too long.
It didn't exactly bother me or hurt, I was just like "oh crap, it's going to get infected" so I tried to un-mess up the skin. it sort of worked, though now it sung more.
She gave up and took a bandage and wrapped it up.
At this point, I had a feeling the dragon egg had exploded in my hand. heh.
Then we go to that guys house, the one that gave us the egg, and he goes upstairs. I go on his computer and get on MSN. A girl from my old school is on. She says "hi, how are you?" and everything I type, every sentence has a really big bloody animated... animated blood flying everywhere. She says "wtf" and the guy comes downstairs and tells me to
get of his emoMSN and study for school instead.
While in the house, i feel my hand "stinging".
We all get on a tram and head for my house (the same tram I take home from school every day :) but the first part of the path is a bit different, since his house is made up by my mind. Then we reach a familiar part, and there are paralyzed cats floating but not moving in the air in front of us. We hit a few and they bounce away like balloons. :)
And then, the scenery changes. I look out the window and see mountains, very much like the Norwegian fjords!
The tram comes to the end of the tracks and stops, and we get out (through the side where there are no doors, usually).
There are no mountains in Holland, especially not in Scheveningen, and curiously, I hear myself thinking in the dream "there are mountains because we have a house in Nijmegen", which is untrue :P
As soon as we get out of the tram we start floating, but deliberately. Not like AAGH I'M FLOATING HELP.
The way I found I fly the fastest is to sort of swim through the air. Not freestyle.
then we reach a huge cliff, with weird creatures, like coral or something, but then much simpler, like vector shapes, spirals, with tentacles. amazing. We fly around them. We reach the end of the cliff, and there is a sort of entrance to a temple or something sticking out of the cliff. As I fly in, I see if I can fly without "swimming". (I have flown by swimming in some of my other dreams too).
It almost works, and I think "Hey, I read about something like this on gnosticweb a week ago!" and I think hey I must be dreaming! And then the phone rings and wakes me up.
That always happens, though what I think really is the cause is that I don't completely wake up when the phone rings, just a bit, and become a tiny bit more conscious of being awake (and asleep!), but then the phone rings a second time and wakes me up.
Hmm. Interesting.
I will have to try meditating 20 minutes before going to sleep to get more rest. I don't have much time to dream, just enough time to get enough rest to not fall asleep during lessons. hehe
Good night, and good luck!

Hi everyone
I know it can be hard sometimes when looking for an answer what a specific dream means, but it is better not to tell anyone of your experiences because they are very personal. Sometimes things are taught in dreams from beings or your divine parents (higher aspects of yourself) and if you tell them they might not teach you anything more for some time. This happened to me in the past.
You can take a look about those things in the dream symbol and numbers guide in the astral travel and dreams book, and you can always ask your divine parents to show it to you a little clearer in your next dream.
Hope that helps

Hi Andrei,
Flying there is a great feeling :) It typically is symbolic of spiritual progress.

To ask is to learn, to learn is to know, thus knowledge is the ultimate goal!
Ha ha it's funny because I'm not working on my spiritual progress at present. If I was fully lucid and could become astrally aware of it I would love to fly with such free will. Oddly enough in reality, I want to take up either Hang Gliding or Paragliding. The over all sense of being high and having you're own power to go where ever you want is for me the biggest desire. Thanks for your replies people. Is there anything I can do throughout the day so it could happen but this time it's lucid?

To ask is to understand, to understand is to love, love is a true goal. Look inside you during the day from moment to moment, this action is a true asking. Understand your self through self-observation. And then your true desire can be granted.

Hi Andrei,
Yeah, flying in astral is amazing!
Practicing self-observation like Gyorgi mentioned, linked together with external awareness throughout the day, learning to be aware in a different circumstances, can increase your chances to be lucid in your dreams, duration of lucidity as well as its clarity.
Lucidity brings freedom of choice, so then you can choose anything you need to do.
Good luck!

I have recurrent flying "dreams" I can remember the early ones were
falling off roof tops but never hitting the ground. Somehow on to another
roof. I can also remember as you said. I would stand on the floor
and elevate by slowly ( flapping is the wrong word) my arms.
When I attained the height I wanted I would turn horizontal , and away.
