Ahoy!
In recent times I have re-discovered the Nag Hammadi Library and I am trying to read at least one text per night. For me it is truly interesting lecture and sometimes motivates me to spend extra time on spiritual work. Below are two (relatively) short fragments from different documents speaking (besides other things) of our non-physical parts. That is why I find them interesting.
“…But I saw in the fourth heaven according to class - I saw the angels resembling gods, the angels bringing a soul out of the land of the dead. They placed it at the gate of the fourth heaven. And the angels were whipping it. The soul spoke, saying, "What sin was it that I committed in the world?" The toll-collector who dwells in the fourth heaven replied, saying, "It was not right to commit all those lawless deeds that are in the world of the dead". The soul replied, saying, "Bring witnesses! Let them show you in what body I committed lawless deeds. Do you wish to bring a book to read from?"
And the three witnesses came. The first spoke, saying, "Was I not in the body the second hour [...]? I rose up against you until you fell into anger and rage and envy." And the second spoke, saying, "Was I not in the world? And I entered at the fifth hour, and I saw you and desired you. And behold, then, now I charge you with the murders you committed." The third spoke, saying, "Did I not come to you at the twelfth hour of the day when the sun was about to set? I gave you darkness until you should accomplish your sins." When the soul heard these things, it gazed downward in sorrow. And then it gazed upward. It was cast down. The soul that had been cast down went to a body which had been prepared for it…” (The Apocalypse of Paul)
“…When he had said those things, I saw him seemingly being seized by them. And I said "What do I see, O Lord? That it is you yourself whom they take, and that you are grasping me? Or who is this one, glad and laughing on the tree? And is it another one whose feet and hands they are striking?"
The Savior said to me, "He whom you saw on the tree, glad and laughing, this is the living Jesus. But this one into whose hands and feet they drive the nails is his fleshly part, which is the substitute being put to shame, the one who came into being in his likeness.
(…)For there will be no honor in any man who is not immortal, but only (in) those who were chosen from an immortal substance, which has shown that it is able to contain him who gives his abundance. Therefore I said, 'Every one who has, it will be given to him, and he will have plenty.' But he who does not have, that is, the man of this place, who is completely dead, who is removed from the planting of the creation of what is begotten, whom, if one of the immortal essence appears, they think that they possess him - it will be taken from him and be added to the one who is. You, therefore, be courageous and do not fear at all. For I shall be with you in order that none of your enemies may prevail unto you. Peace be to you, Be strong!"
When he (Jesus) had said these things, he (Peter) came to himself…” (The Apocalypse of Peter)
By the way, I hope I did not break any forum rules by quoting fragments from the Nag Hammadi Library :-)

I enjoyed reading that but not sure I could comprehend it's entire content.
Was this from a part that was destroyed or missing from the papers? Alot of them have holes in them or missing letters.

Hi Apakhana,
Yes, unfortunately most of the texts from the Nag Hammadi Library have missing parts what sometimes makes it very difficult to comprehend its content. I think there is a lot of information in them which is hidden from a regular reader like me and only a truly spiritual person would be able to comprehend these texts in full. However, reading Gnostic texts (especially those where Jesus teaches his disciples) gives me a motivation to focus on my spiritual development.
I have quoted the fragments above since I think they talk of teachings obtained in non-physical dimension. I have some limited experience in the exploration of the astral dimension and I want to learn and experience more, but it is a real struggle to focus on spiritual development on daily basis where I get easily lost in materialism. That is why I find reading the Nag Hammadi helpful, since it brings me back on track.
