October 2007 Courses Begin at the Toronto Gnostic Centre

The Courses began today at our new location on 'the Danforth' (Toronto's 'Greektown'). We didn't get 115 like last round, but the turn-out was pretty good, especially considering that no store postering was done due to complications with getting posters printed. In their absence (the store posters), we did some pole-postering and some internet site postings in a mad dash last-minute, and that seemed to be enough to get the Centre bustling with activity.

Here are some pictures - and you can finally see the finished main room of the Centre officially in use for the first time...

Here's a shot of the front entrance. Everyone was gathering around to take a look outside at Stas on the stairs (not seen in pic) doing something funny I guess? I missed it, so I'm not sure what happened - maybe someone else can chime in here and let us all know!

Here's the view looking in from outside. Our outside signs are in the process of being done and should be up hopefully soon.

That's me helping out with putting away the chairs. Like Shane (as you will see in his latest blog), I also get to help out beyond taking pictures!

Thank you everyone.

Tonight we had our first meditation session at the new location. It went well and all those in attendance mentioned how they got a lot out of it.

Also, we have re-organised the set-up for the cafe. It's done in such a way now that with the extra chairs at the back (near the very mid-right of pic, not seen), more people can pull up to the tables and take seat. See pic attached.

That cafe looks great. Where's the internet PC going to go?

Hey Rich, when are you going to finish the spot lights? :-)

Hi Shane, With all the work

Hi Shane,

With all the work we haven't had a chance to figure that one out just yet! It will likely go somewhere behind the front desk - at least that's where the internet cable is as of now. The other option of course is to get a wireless router in there and use a laptop, which could be easily moved from that space to the cafe when things quiet down. I like that one the best.

Jordan

Yes, sounds like wireless

Yes, sounds like wireless will be more flexible. You could then setup a laptop to the projector and have internet/website introductory nights on the large screen.
