Transformation Wk13 - the finale - maybe.....?

The small upstairs practice room. John applying the second coat for the day.

Colm taking care of the cutting (term used for doing the edges).

John inspecting the painted doors, which need another coat.

Priscilla concentrating on the delicate bits.

These doors look fantastic and the room feels alive. We can't wait to get some practices happening in the room and benefit from the renewed vitality.

Pati applying a coat of sealant/varnish to give the mat dark green a slight gloss.

Dave applying his contortionist abilities once again to get the fiddly bits. Tony painting on the outside. The camera picked up his aura which has become a lot brighter since starting the spiritual work.

Sue finding the bits that need a delicate coat.

Tony from the outside. This is his physical body.

Mark getting started with the edges in the downstairs washroom.

Colm and Laraine start the skirting board in the upstairs hallway.

Pati starts the doors, which will need a further coat.

Rich focussed on filling the gaps before the painting.

Laraine sanding before painting.

Cheryl sanding in the small upstairs practice room, prior to painting.

Colm on the stairs.

Priscilla starting on the second coats.

John applying the fourth and final coat in the small practice room upstairs.

Rich painting the edges before the main areas.

Tony painting the main window in the cafe area the same colour as the far window. The white window feels a lot better and not so oppressive. The cafe area feels delightful.

Stop for a break. The highlight of the day is presented. Tony reveals an amazing recipe he prepared for his lunch. A toasted sandwich containing squashed, fried and stuffed cockroach with cream cheese. Apparently this is an old Ausy recipe! Have a look below.
Just kidding.... :-) They are dates. Sounds like a delicious combo. I'll have to try that one day.

Nice pic of the cafe with finished cream walls and white ceiling.

Mark starts the second coat in the restroom downstairs.

Pati applying the second coat to all the doors.

Cheryl applying her steady hand to the detailed work on the skirting boards.

Laraine painting the doors.

Tony thoroughly enjoying the transformation from dark wood brown to the white side.

The hallway downstairs. The protruding walls were converted to white, leaving the far walls with purple effect.

Second coat complete. The doors look great.

Cherly taking care of the missed bits.

Colm did a great job cleaning the place up, ready for Wednesday.

Thought I'd give him a hand so people didn't think I was getting away with 'only' taking pictures (which some people think is not a real job). Thanks for taking the photo Colm, I'm sure you appreciate now just how difficult carrying that camera around is. You know it isn't easy being a professional photographer, I go home at night and agonize about it, but someone has to do it. ;-)

Wonderful white practice room and new door.

Amazing - completed interior doors. This room now feels like it has some magic.

Downstairs main room after Colm cleaned it up. The yellow is from the sun shining through the stain glass which has a yellow tint.

Totally transformed kitchen window. Painting this white has made a big difference.

I don't know.... some people clock off early and expect to get paid!!

Tony finishing the last white touches around the door.
The end.... or is it just the beginning...?

Wonderful!!! :D I am not sure if those 2 rooms are separated but they both have magic in them. I feel attracted to the room where the sun shined through. :D
Hello Shane, It looks great,
Hello Shane,
It looks great, and I often find it always looks a little better in person than in a picture, so it must be absolutely fantastic over there!
Surely there must be something on the upcoming transformation list? :-) I hope the blogs keep coming, it's always interesting sifting through the pics...

Hi Shane, I believe that the
Hi Shane,
I believe that the photographer is an intergral part of the team as much as anyone else. You could even say that he is more important than the workers because how else could we get our message out to the world about this transformation that we have all been a part of.
Just don't let John know what I've written here. :-))
A couple of points though, after all these years in Aus you haven't completely converted and still have ties to the motherland. I know you want to be universally correct for the American audience but we call them toilets. Also I consider myself an Aussie (as opposed to an Ausy). Don't insult the convicts please. :-))
Mark.
We look forward to sharing
We look forward to sharing our spruced up centre with many students. All are welcome!
Jo, we would be glad to help but the commute is a tad long for us!
Jordan, you never know, there might be more painting to be done.
"The Finale", Shane you've
"The Finale", Shane you've had to many late nights preparing your blogs :-)
Yes, you're right Mr David there's more painting to be done, for example your room and the little strip of wood which has been missed under the main doors to the front room upstairs (the evidence can be found on Shane's photos) :-)
I was speaking to Shane yersterday to clarify the title of this blog and he said, I should have called it "The Never Ending Story". So please don't be disillusioned by the title :-)
On a serious note, there are still many hours ahead to complete the interior decorating, and lets not forget the signs and many other items recommended by Belzebuub.
Laminated pictures stuck to walls with blue tack will be nothing but a moment in time.
Well done to the Bondi crew! It's always a pleasure and a learning experience to work closely with such a great group.
Excellent work! It looks
