Ok so I have read the gospel of Thomas, and I know it is true, and that it was written at the same time of the other gospels.
However from the Nag Hamadi library, there are many gospels and document than can't be classified as being really written by Jesus apostles, some of them are supposed to be written 100 years later or so, etc. So the sources are not realiable.

Which Gospels and documents of the Nag Hamadi Library and Dead sea Scrolls, have you found realiable?, please list them.

I know, but I'm just a guy who likes to read a lot of spiritual subjects from reliable sources, we know these are original writtings:

Gospel of John
Gospel of Mark
Gospel of Mathew
Gospel of Lucas
Gospel of Thomas
Gospel of Judas

I want to read te documents at the Nag Hamadi and dead sea scrolls that seem the most acurate. I know nothing is 100% reliable, but you get my point, I don't want to read pagan stuff.

I mean, I know you can verify authenticity in astral travel, but I'm far from achieving that level, perhaps some people have verified the contents at astral travel and can give some insight about this matter.

Foxtse, I like reading spiritual subjects as well, but in the field of spirituality I am reliying on nothing. There is simply no such thing as reliable sources in this field.

No matter what I read is providing me with intellectual information, whether it is right or wrong, it is only an intellectual information.

If I start to stamp information on reliable and unreliable, I end up reading the reliable one, the right one. Good for me! But without investigating and experiencing the truth directly, how do I know it is in fact reliable?

I do not know, so I relie on nothing, I read and verify as much as possible. I do not belive and jump to conclusions about the things that I could not verify. In this way I stay troubled, but I have something to relie on, I relie on nothing!

Hi Foxtse,

I am another guy who likes a lot to read spiritual stuff!

I find the Gospels which you have mentioned to be useful for me, except of Gospel of Judas, because I don't understand it much.
Occasionally, I open up one of them and try to read it as consciously as I can.

When I read the Gospels from the New Testament, in some moments I feel like some words are not the right ones, but overall I find the Bible very interesting and inspiring.
I really like the parables and the way how Jesus talked and behaved. Gospels make more sense for me after taking the courses and personal practices.

With the Gnostis Gospels, Gospels of Thomas and Judas, I' ve never felt like something had been changed.

I didn't read yet much of Dead Sea Scrolls and Nag Hammadi Library, to comment on it.

Well, this is just my subjective experience.

To answer the question of reliabilty generally, I attempt to read any books consciously, trying to understand the meaning, visualize the content like I am watching a movie, feel it, experience it.
If I feel like I start to read mechanically, I try to stop it immediately.
Then, I either apply more efforts and keep reading it consciously, or just take a break for some time.
Consciousness helps me to take what I need from the books and read the books in the way contributing to my spiritual development.

So, I see it other way around too, like Gyorgi suggests.
Don't rely on any books, rely on your consciousness activated. Consciousness knows the truth.
