Ok, I thought I should ask a few questions up front that have confused me in the past about Gnostic Christians.

Could you tell me about these?

About homosexuality.
About the Bible(Old, New, and any additional books).
About magick(I once ran across a site by a Gnostic Witch).
About Hell and the Devil.(I don't know how these apply, if at all)
About the Christ-figure(I say 'Christ-figure' because I don't really know how this applies in Gnostic Christianity)

These topics centre more around your personal opinion than anything, since I kinda gathered that the religion is individualistic.

Hi Chaote Guy,

You asked some really good questions.

Before I answer, I just want to mention that the teachings here are really about experience. Anyone can talk about spiritual matters - out-of-body experiences, say, but when it comes down to it, only those who have actually traveled out of their body know if there is truth to such an event or not.

These courses teach techniques to gain self-knowledge in a modern form - modern Gnosis. While I think there is a lot of important information in the Bible - and other religious texts even from other religions - much of it is coded in parables and myths and is quite obscure to us these days. So I guess this answers your second question - that religious texts have useful info, but they are usually not understood correctly nowadays.

Sex in general (including sexual orientation, the uses of sex in spiritual development, etc.) is a really big topic and I personally feel it would be better covered in the courses where important techniques for self-observation and other esoteric techniques are taught. By saying too much on the forums it will all come across as a theory, but in reality through studying oneself, one can see beyond a theory and experience the truth.

In just a few words, though, Gnosis is open to absolutely anyone. However, at a certain point in order to advance spiritually we need to practice Alchemy and this is a sexual practice that is carried out with a member of the opposite sex.

Mystical teachings in dreams, traveling out of the body, encountering spiritual beings, forming circles of protection with elementals, transmuting energy, activating chakras are all quite real and these techniques are covered in the courses. So magic is a big part of Gnosis.

Through experiences in the astral plane (in out-of-body experiences), we can verify for ourselves if there is a Hell or not... This topic is also covered at an intellectual level in the Gnostic Wisdom course. Yes, Hell comes up in the Gnostic teachings.

The Devil, from what I've come to understand through these teachings, is actually a part of us (part of our Being) - a tempter. In order to develop spiritually, we need to overcome temptation.

Again, my understanding of the Christ comes mostly from theory. But I understand the Christ is part of our Being. At a certain point in our spiritual development, this part of us plays a big role in our spiritual ascent. Apparently Jesus came to earth and represented the Christ within each of us, in a symbolic form.

I hope this answers your questions.

All the best!

Mike
