It is also interesting to see there is a similiar theme to this picture with another one by the same artist called Unio Mystica.

Hi Jim,
This picture is amazing – the artist has a true insight into mans development.
The dragon with seven heads on earth represents: the seven deadly sins or the seven main egos of mankind to overcome.
The moon represents: our emotions are ruled by the moon that we must break free from.
The sun represents: The light we need to seek to overcome the moon.
Either side of the sun is our Mother and Father, this represents: the only way to find the light.
The crown above represent: man living as a spiritual being or the birth of the higher body.
