Transformation Wk7 Part II (Sat)

Tony and Dave clean the concrete floor before washing, ready for the acid wash ...

Daya scraping the flaking paint off the railing getting them ready for a new coat.

Daya putting an undercoat on the table legs and frame.

John just about to come down off the wall after showing Rich how to do it....
The electric scissor chair was double booked by the company and therefore never arrived...
But where there's a will, there's a way.... Rich found some extra super strength elbow and shoulder grease so we
could get the top of the building painted... more to come..

Rich continues the concentration..

Tony washes the floor with detergent and soaks it.

Dave putting the third coat and finishing touches on the security grills - finding a way to get
to the difficult areas.

John checking the floor and drenching it.

Rich making progress and perfecting the technique.

Starts finding a way to get higher.

The whole wall nearly completed just this last little bit...

Excellent .... well done Rich and we hope an extra inch of muscle builds up from the 'burn'...

Well we thought that was the end but Rich carries on over the finishing line, to aim even higher...
is there no stopping him?

Dave finding the fiddly bits missed by others not so brave...

Larraine slaving away in the kitchen - with her famous delicious meat pies on the counter - they disappear very fast...
Just what the workers need to refuel.

Rich starts the upper storey from the far end of the building. This rolling is a lot easier but he encounters a problem
and finally finds a huge stone in the roller.

Last bit at the far end.

Dave - always finds the details...

Daya starts painting the driveway gates. They've needed a paint for quite a few years...

Rich nearly finished the whole upper storey.

Daya and Mark start on the inside of the driveway gates.

Dave finishing the grill touchups. A new donated bamboo plant in the front. Just needed a good drink.

The concrete after the wash down and the first acid coat. The acid reacts with the concrete to turn it into a copper colour.
The acid later needs to be neutralised, then the whole thing sealed.

Tony finishing applying the acid.

John painting one of the front pillars. Testing the colour scheme.

Late Saturday night after the concrete stain applied, John tested some creative designs.

Dave the contortionist, finds another spot needing a touch up and continues diligently into the night.

John (Picasso II) doing an excellent design on the concrete floor using different paints.

The Floor looks amazing!

What a great job....it's hard to picture that it was once a concrete floor :-)

It is now a work of art!

Pris's picture

Just so you know how hard we like to work, the wall at the back of the garage was undercoated and then painted like 4 times! and I think that grill David is working on was painted at least 3 times (just before him, I painted another coat over the first coat!)
I hope that paint lasts at least for the next 10 years!!

It seems that centre has more than its share of acrobats.
