Hello Viji,

It's best to avoid pork and foods containing pork as it contaminates the most powerful energies within the human body.

You can see its effect best once you start self observation and elimination of egos.

I looked through the archives about food:

I'm sure there's more to find there though.

Hello Viji,

Pavlin already explained that it is better to avoid pork; otherwise, healthy nutrition that includes all food groups is recommended.

Although there are certain restrictions and rules for women, this topic is explained in detail in one of the later courses within the topic of Alchemy. There are practices that are not recommended during the menstrual period; however, as far as I know, the AP is not one those practices that women need to stop.

In any case, women should allow their bodies to regenerate during the week they have a period, and avoid any extreme efforts and discomfort. There are practices that I personally find especially helpful during this time, such as relaxation and visualization, and vocalizing mantras. Many women feel more sensitive during this time, so calm reflection may also be a good idea for some.

Kind regards,
Andrea

Hello Viji

Besides avoiding things that contains pork, I have found out that it can be counterproductive to eat a large meal just before you try to astral project. It seems harder to concentrate and you are more likely to have nightmares when you fall asleep if you eat right before astral travelling. However, I personally find it very difficult to concentrate on an astral exercise if I am feeling hungry, so balance is needed.

If you are sensitive to caffeine, it may be a good idea to avid things like coffee, Coca Cola and energy drinks like Red Bull before astral travelling.

hi,

Andrea u r right about women shd just rest and all. I'll keep that in mind but i was thinking becaz in some religions women are considered unclean and hence don't pray or involve in spiritual stuffs for a week or so. So i was wondering if any bad entities would be attracked at this time or would it possible they attack women at this time.. lol seems lots of questions though.

Hey the course has started and i was really eagerly waiting for it.. I believe it would help me immensely.

Mattias you are right about energy drinks and caffines. I don't like coffaine stuffs esp. coffe it give me body ache but this energy drinks hmm i gotta stop that. I usually have heavy food at dinner now days guess i that have to cut down.

Wow but anyway these restrictions are good for health too ;)

Hello Viji

You are right, these advice are good for your health. I guess that is logical. Astral travel (when used correctly) is a very spiritual practice and when one is interested in spiritual things, living healthy often follows automatically. At least have a seen this in myself. Without doing anything specific, taking the courses here at gnosticweb have made me a much healthier person, in regards to things I eat.

What about restrictions on eating meat?

Most Eastern teachings are very explicit on this. Buddhism is adamant. If we include Karma in our definition of spiritual practice here (and the commandment of "thou shall not kill"), wouldn't eating meat be forbidden?

I have wondered a lot about this. Pork has been mentioned a bit, but what about flesh in general?

Hello Stiev.

There is no restriction on eating meats on the gnosticweb courses. In fact, Master Samael recommends that we eat some meat. It is needed for our energy in the practice of alchemy.

When it comes to karma, I guess it can give you karma if you eat meat that you know comes from animals that have suffered a lot or things of that nature, but to my knowledge, eating meat or working within the meat manufactory business doesn?t bring karma.

Eating a big stake before sleeping or astral projection is not a good idea, as discussed above.

Hi,

The Boedha did eat meat, just not from animals that were killed especially for him.
Regarding the commandment 'thou shalt not kill', VM Rabolu said that we could not fullfill it anyway. When we eat plant, we also kill them. When we breath in air, we make CO2 out of it. (killing is seen as a tranformation, and the air also contains elementals).
So we must reduce our karma (obviously killing a human would mean much more karma than a horse) but as long as we have a physical body, we will incure karma for it.

Regards,

Olivier.
