What is the difference between Angels (like Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Anael) and Masters (like Samael, Rabolu, Belzebuub)? |

This is from the 'What is mastery' page of this site.
The spiritual path referred to is discussed in detail in the esoteric course particularly.

Master is a title that one receives on a certian stage on the spiritual path. I don't really know if there is any difference between Master and Angel. This could perhaps be something to investigate in the Astral.

Also Beings are usually called either Angel or Master. Master is not called "Angel" and Angel is not called "Master".
If you investigated that subject or had any interesting observations, please share your knowledge.
Have you tried to call an Angel in Astral? How would you call him: Master Michael, Angel Michael or maybe Archangel Michael?

You are quite right when you say that some spiritual beings are called 'Masters' and others 'angels'.
There is probably some meaning behind this, based on the spiritual grade and level, its something worth investigating if it interests us.
Historically though, I think angels are just the way risen beings/masters are represented in books, texts and illustrations.

"Angel" is one of the degrees a Being can have. For example, one Master can be an angel, another one an archangel, or a virtue, a seraphim, etc., each of them having a different roles and missions, according to their individual consciousness.
Also, Samael writes about these degrees in The Three Mountains, describing them as various paradisiac states of consciousness. He writes that such states are earned on the Second Mountain, as one is ascending through various heavens. For details, study the chapters in the section "Second Mountain - Resurection". Here's a summary of the heavens Samael describes and their respective states:
First Heaven (Moon) - Angels
Second Heaven (Mercury) - Archangels
Third Heaven (Venus) - Principalities
Fourth Heaven (Sun) - Powers
Fifth Heaven (Mars) - Virtues
Sixth Heaven (Jupiter) - Dominions
Seventh Heaven (Saturn) /Paranirvana/ - Thrones
Eighth Heaven (Uranus) /Mahaparanirvana/ - Cherubims
Ninth Heaven (Neptune) /Empyrean/ - Seraphim
This is certainly an interesting subject and a lot can be learned through personal investigations.
