Transformation - wk2
Well it's only a day later, but time flies :-) so I'm posting week 2 of the garage transformation.

Above: There's still some rubbish in these pics that was removed during the week, but the main stuff has gone.
It's beginning to feel clearer already.
These pics are taken after Mark borrowed a trailer from his brother and we took two trailer loads of rubbish to the skip. Three old wardrobes went, along with oven, old filing cabinets, vacuum cleaner and other junk. Fortunately the heavy metal stuff was offloaded for free at the council tip for recycling, so we didn't have to pay for that.
Tony, Mark and myself felt the weight of stagnation lift off our shoulders as we released ourselves from the insidious attachments and thoughts of 'what a waste surely it could be reused'? Seeing the massive piles of segregated stinking rubbish, really brought home the reality of consumerism and how all this junk really does get tossed back into the earth and most likely pollute it.
It's interesting to see how even thoughts like this can take hold and identification sets in. Sometimes it seems quite tricky to get the balance right between acting responsibly toward the external (the planet and ourselves) and also watching our inner states toward it all. It's easy to feel self righteous - 'I'm doing the right thing to help the planet' or the opposite 'ah well there's nothing I can do, it's out of my control, anyway it goes into the planet and nature will take care of it eventually'.
At the end of the day it helps reflect on what is the highest priority and use our time here in the best way heeding our intuition and freeing ourselves from the chains of attachment. Anyway that's enough rambling... here's some pics with a bit less rubbish ..
The Fridge was moved near the corner and plugged in to the power to see if it still works. It does, so we decided to
keep it for movie nights, where we could have it near the couch to get our drinks without having to stop the movie
and go to the kitchen to refuel.... just kidding ;-)
This is taken from inside the garage looking out to the front left. The doors and other bits to keep will be moved
to the spa room, which is adjacent to the garage. We use the spa room as another storage room (which we are also
sorting out).
Dave closing up after another weekends work, brushing down the garage door.
