Peace,

I am an activist in Washington DC USA and I have always foreseen using projection as a tool in all types of activism. For example, my first astral experiences were when I was in prison because you are subjected to concentration and self discovery. I work at a prison and I would like to extend projection to the inmates. What do folks think about this? How would one do this, considering most people I discuss projection with thinks I am weird.

At the same time, I feel like an astral community could be built within the activist community in DC because many activists are very spiritual, studious, loving and moral folks and are usually involved in some type of meditation already. What do folks think about projection communities? Could such a community be created in the astral?

I'd love to know if this is possible. For me, however, it's very hard to project at will. Sometimes I can, and sometimes I can't. Also, I never know if the people I meet in the astral are actual beings or aspects of my own consciousness.

It takes a hell of a lot of practice at getting this stuff right, and you have to make it the main priority in your life. You have to be totally focused, switched on and aware, and this takes a lot of self work to achieve.

In this instance, prison would probably make a good laborotory to experiment with this. People must have a lot of time on their hands in jail, so they may have the time and patience to learn. You'd need your own quiet space, so a single cell would be preferable. You would also need to get away from some of the heavier astral energies that prevail in jail, although this is more for your own ability to focus and concentrate than anything else.

From my experience, activist circles are not the best places for these sorts of practices. Activists seem either really focused on social objectives (in which case they don't have the time and interest in "spiritual" matters), or they're the flaky, teepee kind (and they're too busy drinking herbal tea and talking to do much else). A lot of them might show interest - but doing it is another matter entirely.

The astral plane (where I've been, anyway) is not really a task-oriented place. Communication (or conversation) is not like it is down here. There are different laws and energies. There are negative entities that interrupt your focus and lead you astray.

Mind you, if you become a seasoned astral traveller, you might discover that there are already activist communities already on the astral plane.

Not to mention imprisoned ones!

Hey Mark,

I think it's a great idea to teach projection to people, but it takes a certain amount of understanding and experience to do it in the first place. Without the full picture, i.e. explanation of esoteric psychology and the path, it becomes something which can easily mislead people. Working towards objectivity in our experiences by freeing the consciousness is really important.

There's the teacher's course which you can take after the other courses if you'd like. Once you've completed them all you should have a much better picture on everything.

All the best with your practices.

It's great that you want to help those who are interested in these things to project. Taking the Teacher's course would definitely help you to do so, as Jon suggested.

I'm basing my understanding of what prisoners have access to on a few episodes of Oz...so, I don't if this is possible - But, if there is a library, perhaps you could donate a book on astral projection. This would get the information out there if someone is interested.

Hello Mark,

I encourage you to take up the teacher courses and to try bring this knowledge to the prisoners. They could benefit a lot from this teaching, the only problem is the environment it self, since the common influence is completely against any further spiritual progress. So even if they would learn about astral travel, rare would be those who would take up the spiritual work inside the prison. Still, it might help some of them to take it up after they're liberation. I wish you to do the best you can!

Remember to practice awareness in case you forgot.

I'll try to be aware writing, thank you :)

hello Mark,

I think it is a good idea to spread ap among the inmates, they sure have motivation for a bit of freedom...
Even if only a few or even 1 wants too, it is worth while.
Also good for your dharma.

I've think spreading the book astral travel and dreams by VM Belzebuub in the library is a good shot for now.
You only have to promote freedom:)
Then on the long term teachers course is good.

cheers, Peter

Hi Mark,

Yeah, I think, the idea is great, will it really work, that's the question?

Providing with the material on astral projection, meditation, self-discovery, etc. can be really great, thus giving a chance to learn and leave it up to the individual choice and efforts.

If someone is very interested in spirituality in prison, maybe you can share with the ideas that "you can oversmart the judge but you can't oversmart the Universe"; that basically, all the humanity is trapped and generally, those cool successful role-models from the big world have a very dark part of their lives, which they try not to show; that even a prison can be used as the wonderful opportunity to learn many skills and to create a solid fundament for all the future life. You are here, accept what you have, but accept also what you can have, and be intelligent enough to make the use out of it.

Then, from a practical view, if you will try to actually explain those things deeply and teach it, maybe you will find that you can't really help for most of them, that many will agree with you and look very interested and even try a few things, however, when the time will come for the actual making of all the steps for any substantial progress to be made, be really serious and disciplined in that horrible environment, only few out of few, will be able to do it for real. I am not sure that you will find them. But if you won't try, you will never know!

Yes, like it was said, I find, that taking Teachers Course can really help you to learn how to teach in the most effective way from the spiritual perspective, giving the most you can, for those who want it, and who can really take the most out of it, according to their abilities and situations.

Good luck for you and for everyone!

Thank you all very much for your comments. All of you raise very valid points. Jail can be a very negative place, but it is also a very rehabilitating place. It definitely was for me. These kids have a lot of potential. Anything they put their mind into they do it with par excellence.

As far as activists and inmates taking it serious, i believe some would take it serious, others wouldn't. Activists can be focused on other issues many times. I found that it is really hard for them to keep their brain quite because they are compact with information. I am going to spread the idea to folks that i think would take it serious, bring the inmates some books, and refer both groups to this website.

I will definitely check into the teaching class, I didn't know there was one.

thanks

Hey Mark,

Sounds like a really good idea!

I think anywhere you go some people are going to take this seriously, and others won't, so I don't see why jail would be any different. You'll pretty quickly pick up who's going to be interested and who less so too I imagine. Hopefully some people might surprise you though!

And as you said, I imagine it would prompt the urge for change and rehabilitation and push some people in the direction of developing spiritually.

I remember hearing when I first started the astral course here that there were some people in jail who had learnt how to project and had learnt all kinds of things behind bars.

You can get copies of the astral book from www.absolutepublishinggroup.net if you can't find them anywhere else.

All the best with it! Let's hope some people are really interested and run with it :)

AND THIS IS WHY I AM TAKING THIS COURSE

I have astral projected on just a few isolated occasions, but I do want to learn to astral project at will.

Time travel is one of my major interests.
