I would like to hear of anyones experiences in opening the Third Eye while in a state of meditation while attempting to project. I have had a number of experiences where this has been achieved, like almost looking through a tunnel in black and white, then being able to look around the room. But unfortunatly it does'nt last for long and always awaken quite startled. Peace Roos |

Hi Roos,
I've had that happen, too, when trying to project - that I can suddenly see around the room. For me, it's not like a tunnel though - more like I'm actually seeing through my eyelids.
I'm not sure if this is a result of the third eye (giving rise to clairvoyance) or to the faculty of polyvision (I'm not completely sure which chakra this comes from - the crown chakra, I think).
Our spiritual faculties are most active in daily life when we are in a state of awareness. And in the astral, all of our spiritual faculties are greatly heightened.
So it seems possible that being concentrated (so our consciousness is generally quite active) and being drowsy (so that we are on the verge of projecting) brings about this sudden vision.
I hope this helps.
All the best in your practices!

Thanks for that Mike. It usualy happens un-expectedly especialy after long periods of practising awareness or meditation. Would like to be able to control it better though.

Hey Roos,
I've experienced the same thing as Mike has while doing concentration or meditation practices, all of a sudden being able to see the room through my eyelids.
I'm not sure if I'm right or not, but I think that when that happens I've split into the astral, but am still in the space of my physical body (hence feeling like I'm looking through my eyelids). When I realise I'm seeing though it usually stops, so maybe I'm just teetering on the edge of getting into the astral and getting excited about it or thinking about it pulls me back.
I'd like to be able to better control it too! Maybe just more practice?
